mw2 multiplayer help

hey guys im working on a theory that i posed to my professor. anyway the theory is that someone would be able to download MW2 and crack it( lets say the SKIDROW crack for arguments sake) and then download steam, get a cd keygen and then play multi player.

now i want to know if this is possible and if so how, in theory, would someone actually achieve this. a step by step guide would be much appreciated as i would get better marks.

Yep. I seen a thread on Newshost and the guys are doing it. I don't know how long it will last though...

It will probably be fixed in the next steam update, and they crack it again, and the cycle continues I assume...
 
get a second hand copy? the campaign is really short so i guess a lot of people will be selling it who doesnt have internet

oh and to you Identity: do you support people who screw the pc community over so hard that they need wheelchairs? im not even gona play it. it was just a theory
 
There was a way you could do that, and you didn't need a keygen, not that I would post or pm it, since I actually bought the game.

The new patch, 1.066, has removed that. You can play mp with a cracked version, but you'll get kicked after a minute.
 
Go search the web, there is already ways for non original copies to be played online through steam.

But just be aware that steam updates quite frequently, so you will have to look for updates/cracks quite frequently as well
 
You can't just magic up a cd key, Steam uses a database that is online for cd key's, which is more like a activation code than a cd key and is assigned to the account. If you do manage to get it working though, Multi Play on a Steam server means VAC which is the anti cheat method. They will find that you are using illegal copy and then you will be banned permanently from their servers, your Steam account is also disabled I think.
 
well i personally think the people responsible for steam should get so violently tortured/killed/raped/sent to their bedrooms and be grounded that i cant even think of a punishment that so bad that they'd deserve. i only use steam for this purpose. theoretically ofcourse:)
