Someone, and I say someone because I know there are people out there that enjoy doing this, should start a website with the sole purpose of gathering 'signatures' in support of MW3 having LAN functionality.
I understand that online gaming is popular, I myself am an avid Black Ops player and enjoy a variety of other online fps games, but despite this, I really enjoy getting together with a bunch of friends and having a proper LAN. Swearing at someone and driving them to the edge of reason, talking to team members in the middle of a game and laughing IN SOMEONE'S FACE when you manage to get a semtex stuck to their head and watch them run around like a retard just isn't the same online.
There have been games in the past that are excellent representations of how adding a LAN component to an fps should be done, and these are the games that are still being played today, both because they're really good, and because no-one seems to bother developing games with the LAN capabilities that the consumers clearly want. The public is listened to in terms of things like weapons and maps, but all the harassment over LANning just never seems to pay off. It's not happening any more. And it's a disappointment.
I know, in a way, it takes much more time to make these currently developing games so that they can be LANned, especially with much focus being placed on co-op modes and improving on previous graphical engines, but there could be slightly more time spent on creating decent LAN functionality in games and less time on cocking about with online servers that, despite all the alleged effort, still present themselves with a multitude of infuriating problems that just never seem to go away.
