MWEB 10Mbps ADSL launched

Interesting.

There is no option for 10 meg speeds, or am I missing something?

Is it R899?

*edit*

Appears not.

4x the price for 2.5x the speed? How about some in-between options?

What am I missing?

:o

4 meg = R539, 10 meg = R1999. Just thought it would be nice to have a 6 meg and 8 meg option as well, for those who don't want to pay a premium in order to get more than 4 meg.

Sorry, I was not being clear.

I must be losing the plot here, as I don't see any mention of ten meg uncapped on MWEB's site.

*edit*

For the record, that price seems to me to be absurd.

I suppose it depends on the shaping and fair use policies though.

Surely its pointless having a 10MB connection when everything is shaped to hell?

How often are you going to need 10MB just for browsing?

pull the other one mweb, half that price and i might consider.

Scroll down a little until there is an option to select the connection speed.

Hi copacetic

We would like to offer a 10Mbps customer a good experience and the cost of providing such a service cannot be ignored. Over time, the costs associated with providing a 10Mbps connection will decrease and we will continually evaluate the product pricing to ensure we provide great value for money.

Kind Regards

Do I sound like an imbecile? :p

I had to restart Firefox and it worked.

For sure, of course the average consumer is going to be unaware of any technical stuff and they are going to think (as I did) 'right, 4 meg = X price; bit more than 2 times 4 meg = four times the price ='

It makes no difference to me personally, as the idea of just 4 meg uncapped is laughably expensive, after all the various costs are added together in any case.

Anyway, best of luck with this one.

I understand MWEB is moving in the right direction by offering these services 'uncapped' but the pricing is WAY too much.
