For that amount of money I'd want whatever full line speed is, at least 80% of the month.

The price point is ludicrous. All that 10MB uncapped would mean to me is getting the same old stuff faster. So I would in effect be using my uncapped account 2.5 times less than I am now. I shouldn't be charged more for it, and certainly not 3 times more. If anything, I should be charged less. That is what technological advancement is all about.

Well for downloading, considering newsgroups seem to do around 120KB/s on 4MB, 10MB is probably only going to get you around 252KB/s.... If the network can't handle 4MB and it needs to be shaped to hell - how the hell is it supposed to handle 10MB? Next we'll get the "FULL CAPACITY" excuse when we can't manage more than 15KB/s on 4MB again. :wtf:

Yep, 10Mb mweb prices are crazy. Only small offices which max their 4Mb for most of the day on web traffic will be interested at these prices. For those of us whose lines sit idle (or almost idle due to shaping) most of the time, these prices need to drop to less than half the price to be worthy of considering.

Well, if you're not happy with the 10Mbps uncapped, shaped AUP, you can always sign up for the business unshaped option, at only R4999pm (LOL ;-)

I got their birthday special, 100gb capped account until December for R475 per month and on my 10mb line it runs at max speed 90% of the time... Pretty sweet product, pretty sweet performance..Geez....okay, thats me out of teh 10meg uncapped arena, come on Afrihost, shake the market up AGAIN please
It rewords to "Use as much data as you like, but don't".
I'm getting 50KB/s on my 4MB connection, so that means I'll get 110KB/s on 10MBs... great.
If Afrihost hadn't been so miserable with the uncapped thing, I'd actually take that - I don't think I've used more than 100GB. Anyone else offering something similiar?
Who cares what they did with uncapped, if it's a good deal you want then take it. I don't think anyone else is offering anything similar in any case, but this was a birthday special that might be gone now.
Sounds like a plan, problem is that i download SD most of the time cause im impatient with the 10mb i will download HD, Wonder what avg cap would be, currently on about +- 60gbs per month. But the 100gb capped sounds like a better deal
The problem is if something happens and suddenly I have a 100GB shaped connection that is impossible to use... unfortunately Afrihost can't be trusted (by me, again).
What do you download to make 60GBs of SD? I only download HD and do about 60GB-80GB :wtf:
