Mweb 384kb uncapped unshaped or shaped option?

I am deciding whether or not to go with the unshaped 384kb ADSL option that Mweb is offering.

I would like to know what sort of speeds users are getting and if it is worth the extra rands to get unshaped?

People have been pretty scathing about this service (presuming you're talking about the non-business unshaped).

go for the unshaped. i have the shaped account and while its awesome it can be really fraustrating at times as well.

i'm on 40gb this month so far which is decent but i was expecting a lot more by now, i'm not complaining just letting you know it's not all that amazing.

i've scheduled downloads from ealier in the month (software and some big files) and they still downloading ...

If you're using a 384 or 512 line rather get the uncapped Gold accounts from open web. The pricing for the consumer unshaped mweb accounts is just crazy.

I am getting exactly the same kind of pings, timeouts, and issues on unshaped (internet addict package), but people tell me my dslam is congested, so what do i know.

Actually the openweb option is more expensive than the mweb option? Openweb gold unshaped = R599 while mweb unshaped = R499.... Or am I missing something (both seem to be data only)

I was talking about the GOLD shaped option.

I've gotten up to ~3.3GB in a day from the 384kb/s shaped account, it runs at pretty much full speed all the time.

i''ve peaked to 3.4GB a day since getting the uncapped unshaped 384k account, so far i've done almost 14GB since signing up on the night of the 22nd

Its nice knowing that something downloads at the full speed 99% of the time

I get full speed on my 512k unshaped pretty much 24/7. If I don't pause my connection to the news servers I get 4+ GB a day easy.
