mweb 4 meg speeds

Has anyone else had terrible 4 meg uncapped speeds over the last 2 days, i am gettin a max of 43kbs at 11pm.:mad:
 
Well my line is set to 3meg and last night I got 340 on torrents and during the day between 150 and 200.
 
It is crazy was on a 384 line for 2 monthe getting average 40kbs then 2 days ago upgrade to 4 meg....First night 350-400kbs very happy then last night nothing more than 50kbs. Just checked now bearing in mind it is peak period averaging 60kbs really hope this improves.
 
Same experience here...

Useless in the day, 6-10kbps but at night I can get somewhere in the region of 7-10 gigs!
 
Some people have been having issues the last 2 days actually. I don't have info on when this will be resolved, best to contact Mweb any maybe post the outcome here?
 
We seemed to have had a bad two days.

My line is set to 3 MEg as well I manage to down around 6 gig at night for the last two nights
 
just tried newshost now again max 64kbs and drops to as low as 8kbs and thia on a 4meg line...crazy
 
My connection speeds have been all over the place since Sunday (27th), and not just with mweb accounts, i have web africa and axxess accounts and they all are slow.

Think it's the soccer messing around or something else?
 
Ok, spoke to mweb this morning, they told me to call telkom to get my port recreated, which i did....still the same poofie speeds, so i guess i am paying for a 4meg line but receiving a 384
 
i have been experiencing the same issue on a 4 meg line. Mweb 'official' statement says that torrents and P2P will PARTIALLY shaped in peak hours - however - 5kbps during the day and between 20-40kbps in the evening is ridiculous. also considering downgrading
 
I get max line speed at night on torrents. Don't know what's wrong with your situation.

Maybe choose stuff with more seeds?

Did you enable port forwarding?

What torrent client are you using?

Are you encrypting your connection or not?
 
Signed up with MWeb after the Afrihost debacle. Have been with them for several days now. Can't get more than about 10kb/s on a 4mb line. Have been trying to get through to their call centre. Nobody bothering to answer after you navigate the menu. Amazing how fast they took my call when i signed up though. Is there no hope for uncapped broadband in this country ?

Not sure you can expect more than 10 kilobytes per second on a 4 megabit per second line from p2p sites during office hours. Judging performance depends on what you're downloading, where you're downloading it from and when you're downloading it.

Many users in this thread pull close to 0.5TB per month on a 4mbps line. Also read here.

Is it just me or do the most random people post how poor mweb is?

People who either signed up this month or who have been on this site for years but have low post counts. Not saying post count is anything amazing just odd that randoms suddenly post and their only posts pertain to mweb being crap.

I may be wrong but i very rarely see someone who is a regular poster saying mweb is slow 24/7.
