O sh*t...what now?:confused::confused:

I was downloading a torrent I thought was legit...:cry:

Delete file. Send Apology email. Get Peerblock. Download file again. Sorted :D

*I do not support piracy, but I hear you get a cookie for joining :whistle:

Lol dude calm down. MWEB aren't going to do anything. I think this is the 3rd (?) thread now about MWEB sending these emails. I don't see anyone being banned or arrested yet :confused:

Just make sure you use peerblock next time ;)

Regarding that "Containing file(s): xxxxxxxxxx" ... they sniff and list your files being downloaded in your torrent? Does MWeb really have the right to do that?

I mean I understand port shaping, but sniffing out the packets you're actually downloading? :/

It's not mweb that does it.. Have a look in your uTorrent or what ever your using. You can see who (users IP) is downloading what from you. They just do an IP look up and see who the IP is registered to, which is mweb. They email mweb saying IP was downloading copyright content at this time. Mweb checks their logs of who was assigned the IP at that time and forward email to you..

do NOT send any response. If that response e-mail gets into the hands of the content owners they will be able to identify you and start proceedings against you. Just ignore the e-mail and take steps to cover your tracks from here on out.

Has MWEB actually ever cancelled anyone's account for not responding?
