Hey

Anyone know how I go about cancelling my MWEB ADSL account?
What is the process, contact details etc?
How long does it take to terminate?

Cheers
:)

1 month notice so far as i know.

i hope you not going to basic IS uncapped then making big fault.

what do you mean? "i hope you not going to basic IS uncapped then making big fault." ??

like afrihost uncapped, openweb basic uncapped, axxess basic uncapped, is all IS basic uncapped accounts, you will be throttle for to much downloading.

if you want better speeds go open gold uncapped, or ask mweb rep to sort out your account for you to get better speeds.

It's 1 *calendar* month notice. So if you cancel today, your service stops at the end of February. And, of course, you have to pay for the whole of February. Simply phone them and ask them to send you the "Request for termination of service" form.

Can someone please ban this dude!

Why? they guy is just expressing his opinion, and he is correct speeds have been up and down lately on my mweb account as well.

Have been downloading from news servers yesterday and cached content is going at half the speeds, not sure what is wrong with my account. Will monitor for a few days and see if the speed improves.

384k uncapped here btw.

Starting multiple threads about the same issue, insulting the MWeb ops, failing to read the existing threads on the issues and "flooding" posts like the one above are not the best ways to get support.

Hi Necro_guy

Please forward me your MWEB account details in order for me to investigate why you are experiencing slow speeds.

As you mentioned, please monitor on your end as well and provide me with feedback.

Perhaps you could investigate something for me as well.
I'm on mweb 4meg uncapped. i WAS paying my line rental to telkom. Last month i asked mweb to migrate that, so that i pay for line and bandwith directly to mweb. And from this point, things went extremely south.
First, i noticed browsing was extremely slow, and discovered that my line now shows 384 on my router. i called in to telkom and mweb to find out what is going on. after lots of shouting and screaming i was today told that mweb had (finally) sent through the request to telkom to upgrade my line *back* to 4meg(Which is going to take a "couple days", even though i'm paying for it already) but here's the best part - my telkom phone bill shows i've been charged for DSL fastest(4meg) until feb 11 2011, AS WELL AS 9gig of cap. This surprised me because i don't know where that bandwith came from. telkom was never my ISP ever. i asked telkom to cancel that, to which i have a confirmational sms. but i mean really... i ask for migration so i have to deal with telkom's @#$% less, and all this happens. Mweb you let me down here, as i can only blame you as you're the people i asked to take over my line..before it all went south.
