Hi all,

Has anyone had any issue these past few days with the MWeb and IS smtp.

Received numerous complaints of clients unable to send mail using smtp.mweb.co.za and smtp.isdsl.net.

All my SAIX users are fine.

Have contacted both support desks and they have been no help at all.

Good Morning, are your clients still have issues with sending MWEB mail? Hereticangel is also providing your the correct info...

MWEB Guy, its quiet annoying that the Mweb retail support desk are not able to assist clients
directly and are constantly referring clients to us for a resolution.

Made the change and this is the error that is comming up:

Send test e-mail message: The server responded: 451 Could not complete sender verify callout (in reply to RCPT TO command))

MWEB Guy, its quiet annoying that the Mweb retail support desk are not able to assist clients
directly and are constantly referring clients to us for a resolution.

Are all your clients using MWEB as their internet service provider? If yes, is their outgoing smtp settings: smtp.mweb.co.za Or are some of them using their own smtp server?

All the clients that are having an issue are:

1. Using Mweb for their ADSL and Internet Access.
2. Host their domains on our servers.
3. They have their pop3 set to my server to recieve mail.
4. They have their smtp set to send mail using smtp.mweb.co.za
5. I tried using auth smtp to my server on port 25 but I see that mweb are
forcing any traffic on port 25 to their server.

Please provide me the error messages when using smtp.mweb.co.za? Also I need a few of the MWEB clients MWEB account details (mweb email address)...

Issue is with your Firewall or Antivirus

Eg Panda :

Under Firewall rules, System :

Outbound 25 and 587 default setting is Deny Communication for outbound - change all to allow.

I raised this issue with mweb 2 years ago.

if your mail account is not on the mweb network, a spam prevention measure on the mweb SMTP does not get a response quick enough from the email domain host, so the mweb SMTP replies with that message.

I was told the timeout period cannot be increased, I requested the spam prevention method be disabled or replaced, but... ya... I guess its built into the smtp software


either move your email to mweb, or move your DSL away from mweb, or use the email domain SMTP with authentication...
 
Error 451

It is also intermittent and sometimes I also get a message from My Norton Security with the same Error code and message.
I use smtp.mweb.co.za and have tried changing the port to 587 all this on recommendation from 3 different MWeb support by phone but find then that the test email is not successful and get the message "Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing email (smtp) server......."
I change back to Port 25 and test email goes successfully but I still get the error 451 intermittently.
I saw other reference to SPAM filters but a call to MWeb Help says this is not the problem.

Hi All,

Was there any solution to this at all?? I have experienced the same as well as some of my MWeb clients, it is beginning to reflect badly on my business as clients sometimes don't understand that we cannot change MWeb settings and or policies.... any solution will be welcome. Thanks!!
