anything at the moment is better than Afrihost with their issues. *excluding Openweb - No go.

While I tend to advise otherwise against Mweb, Considering the Circumstances, They are way better than afrihost at the moment.

Get a trial uncapped account from them, also get a trial account from crystal web and webafrica. All have their positives and their negatives, you just have to find the one that works for you.

All of Mweb's consumer offerings have thresholds before you get throttled, So yea - That is also a deciding factor.

Hi there

Thank you for the input.

Will check it out

LOL

Mweb's goal is to rip their customers as much as possible, and defend their sister company's grip on multimedia as much as possible

Remember, Mweb & Multichoice are owned by Naspers

High usage generally indicates media consumption, which is a direct threat to Multichoice. Mweb is the only ISP I know of that really tries as hard as they can to give their customers as little as possible, whilst charging the most.

Stay where you are, I know Afrihost isn't the same as it used to be, but its still one of the best ISP's.

For these reasons i'd advise one to look at another ISP besides Openweb.

I dunno how you do your current downloading but Mweb has no news server, they cut that out.

Crystal Web & Webafrica then, at list no bad news yet on those shores.
Their home uncapped packages are mostly identical in performance, but if you don't want to manage your daytime usage a lot, CW has a premium uncapped account for a little bit more, which requires very little usage management.

Ironic how they're the best ISP for streaming media.

Seriously though, say what you want, but you haven't had good internet if you advise staying with Afrihost or any MTN-backbone ISP.

Hi Chris

If you interested in one of our trial accounts, let me know and I can set it up for you.
That way you can test the network for yourself to see how it performs.
Drop me a PM and I can get the ball rolling for you. ;)

May I ask why you aren't looking at an AH Business Uncapped account.

While GhostR might be very anti-AH I have enjoyed using their service both downloading, streaming and playing games. My friends and family all use AH Business Uncapped accounts and all are happy with the service.

Definitely not the best, but many times better than mweb

IIRC Mweb changed their logo to a giant middle finger ;)

Not true. Most people are happy with DSTV and other Naspers offerings. It's petty to bring this to a completely different arena, and avoid quality internet due to other business interests you may not agree with. It's your loss at the end of the day. There will be a host of unethical companies you support in other aspects. The bottom line is that they are quality products (MWEB), and it is wrong to advise against them based on trivial reasons, when other people may greatly benefit from them.

Advice should be about the other person, not yourself.

Stay away from MWEB if you plan to use the internet for things other than Facebook.
It's that simple :)
