MWEB - Business Uncapped ADSL - 2mbps

Hi, I am looking at the prices of internet connections in Cape Town, and appalled by it. Scared really..

As I will be working from home will need a decent line, something that allows me to vpn to europe and work without cappings and slowness during the day.

Was looking at the Business Uncapped ADSL from MWEB. Already got a Telkom line with ADSL, so should be ok.

Got a couple of questions for the mwebguy on the forum..

1 - Can I get a business line on a residential home? Do I need some sort of permit for it?

2 - If I find that the 2mbps is too slow, how easy is to upgrade?

3 - Will host servers, to recoup the price of the connection, any issue with that?

4 - Where it says that the router is compulsory, do I pay for it?

5 - Is the price paid monthly, or in a lump sum ahead?

Sorry for so many questions, but never had internet in South Africa, so it is all a bit confusing at the moment.

1. you can get it at your home.

2. just a phone call to mweb

3. nope you have bussiness account, it has AUP or throttling or any limits.

4. I think its free with contract, this is static I.p device, so you can give your servers , public i.p address to connect to the internet, you get 5 of them.

5. 2mps bussiness uncapped has a monthly price , the router is once off.

1: yes you will be able to get a business to your home.

2: You can either contact our call centre or send me a message to upgrade.

3: No issue as you will have a business account.

4: Yes you will have to pay for the router.

5: Your adsl subscription will be monthly and the router will be a once off charge.

Its no problem at all.

Thanks for your feedback, I have sent your comment on to the team here as a suggestion for improvement. By way of explanation though: The reason why our pricing is not made explicitly clear is because MTN provides a broad range of solutions to businesses both large and small. The website has been structured to allow different sizes of business access to information based on their requirements. As such, our consultants structure specific packages based on clients’ needs. But your comment makes complete sense: I am thinking that what could be a nice addition is a ‘build your own package’ interface, to make it easier for customers to see approximate costs… I will take this up with the teams here. Thanks.
