MWEB Capped increases?

lol last time telkom came out with a cap increase mweb matched it.....thats all i wana know.....

its not as simple as just changing....emails and wat not would have to change....its slightly more of a mission if i have to change!

You can pay R50 a month to keep your Mweb email. Mweb's capped products have never been priced competitively so if you're looking for bang for your buck on a capped account you're looking in the wrong place.

last time i checked and when i made the decision to stay with Mweb, there was a R20 difference in going with Mweb's All Inclusive package than going with Telkom, give or take, and seeing as I get 300 free Wifi minutes i think it was a good option!!

I am struggling to understand why you guys are not getting the point?I though that colin made it quite clear?

I am reluctant to change ISPs (just deal with it), I do not want to pay R50 per month for an email address.....

bang for my buck - telkom are offering 9gbs a month on a 4mb for R554
Mweb are offering ATM 5gbs a month on a 4mb for R579

ok a R25 difference and i got 300 wifi minutes....the wifi minutes were attractive to me....show me another capped ISP that offers 5 hours of free wifi minutes??

now bang for your buck with telkom....R554 (line rental and cap)
- R413 for line rental = R141/9 = R15.67 per gb??? (so for those of you who think telkom are not offering a good capped package think again)

[even if Mweb didnt increase their cap their 5gb package was competitive: R579 - R413 (line rental) = R166/5 = approx. R33/gig..... + 300 wifi minutes]

Show me another ISP that offers less than that with the same ping results?

My gracious....some of you guys are a joke! I came here seeking educated advice yet you come with some stupid statements.:wtf::confused:

NOW, IF Mweb would be able to match telkom? I would not have to move ISPs (equating to R18.4/gig if they keep they same pricing) + 300 free wifi minutes!

I would have no reason to leave, as I WOULD NOT be able to get any cheaper capped options at the moment.....barring mwebs ridculuous booster costs/gig!

if mweb increase their cap to 9gbs i will not have to go to another ISP as that is more than enough for me!lol that is all i want to know

You've just done the maths showing that with the current pricing and caps Telkom are far better bang for your buck than Mweb on thier capped offerings, yet you're accusing me of making stupid statements?

An Mweb employee already answered your question in the first few posts. By ignoring him (or her) and throwing insults around because you're not being told what you want to hear - the only joke here is you. Good luck asking for advice here in future.

Another thing, razor, it's time to get a gmail account. Set mweb address to forward all mails to new gmail address. [any free email address will do]

Start replying from gmail. After a month or two, send a mail to all contacts that address has changed. Then you'll have a transferable address, preventing the exact lock-in feeling you have.

From there, you can shop around- axxess/afrihost or whatever you feel will best meet your needs. The 'free email' thing is a trap. Try to get out of it. There is better value to be had elsewhere.

Good hunting!
