Hi guys I have two question to ask today :)

1.) When an mweb acc gets capped does it still give an ip of 41.xxx - Im sitting at a customers and their account is returning an international ip yet cannot browse anything - and when I ping anything only ip it displays or reroutes to is as below - now I am assuming thats capped but i find it interesting that mweb allocate an ip that should be able to have international access...

2) As I said im doing some basic work for a client - removing malware - setting up printers scanners - formatting machine and starting from scratch where needed - setting up dsl etc - what should I charge per hour or day or whatever - I dont really do this as a job full time I study and perhaps do the occasional freelancing when people ask - any ideas?

3) Now I know i said 2 questions but a third just popped up - client doesnt know their email login/pass - i obv know the pop/smtp for mweb but without their login I cant setup their mail - any ideas where I can get it - I know their dsl login info but seems they have a diff pass for their mail acc - i remember a while back you had to fax mweb to get acc details - now i dont have access to a fax machine atm, is their any dsl console or some such i can log into on the mweb site that will allow me to change email pass?

Thanks
J

i can maybe help you on the 3rd question.
i have an mweb account, dsl info : [email protected], pass : XXXXX
now the email account should be the same as above without the dsl just [email protected], pass should be exactly the same as the dsl pass as is mine

try it out, might just work.

and maybe try loggin mweb.co.za, scroll down to myadsl section, when asked for login details enter the dsl username and pass and see if it lets you in to the clients myadsl credentials page.

Mweb does their routing at a different level. You could provide ANY password and it'd connect. But it'd give you a landing page saying "Incorrect Username/password".

Likewise, once capped, attempting to access an international address will give you an appropriate landing page.

On q 3, (this is horrible, but it works) you have to phone them(mweb) and ask to have the password reset... they will send you a form with a defqault password, which has to filled out and sent back to them via fax with a copy of the account holders id or passport... they then reset the pass and you can change it from the mweb website

To give input to your first question, when I connect through the Telkom guest account I get an IP that looks like an International TI IP but it only has access to a few sites :) (like telkom.co.za and games.saix.net, the forums not the gaming servers;))
