Mweb cost? WTF!!!!

Ok This is just insane..


I have 1Gig ADSL account (R145) but I see that this month i get billed (in the billing page) R261.80.

They added :
06/05/08 ADSL Usage Charge R 116.80 which gives you R 261.80 .

WTF!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell is the ADSL Usage charge? I had this account for 3 months. I saw that they charged me R250+ for going over my cap etc (which is fine).

I used the previous months lots of local only, but this month nothing. I still have 35meg left of my 1Gig account. Now why the hell do they charge me extra R116?

I have only the ISP account with them, that is all. No routers etc.

By default MWEB does not default to local only you pay per meg after reaching your cap. Therefore either you have not cancelled the auto topup or per meg billing after reaching your cap or MWEB has made a mistake and charged last months local usage above the cap at the per meg rate. A charge on the 6/5 would be for last month

But why am I charged for last month if they I payed for last month overcharge? That is what I don't understand.

I still have 30meg left from my 1Gig for this month (May)

MWeb is nothing but grief. Drop them if you can and switch to a proper ISP like WebAfrica or Axxess.
 
Do you still get unlimited local on Mweb?
 
I don't know what is your guys problem and don't wan't to start a fight over which ISP is best, but my experience with MWEB has only been good and have no complaints at all and it is easy enough to manage your account with them on the website.
They also have very nice extra's that come with your ISP account that to me justify's the small extra charge.
They have stuff like:
Free McFee Firewall and Antivirus that you can manage online if you have alot of pc's
They store all your old e-mail
Have never not had access to ADSL except if telkom buggers it up.
They're tech consultants are not too bad and can help easy enough
I have also had no problems with they're sales consultants
AND the Local bandwidth is good

Unfortunately, I do have to agree with you! :p

But it is even better when someone else is paying for the M-Web Account! ;)
 
its best getting a one-prise-ADSL subscription.
at cybersmart its 10% cheaper overall.
Any problems with your line, you phone the helpline and they kick telkom's nuts until its fixed :cool:
once fixed my problems on a sunday :D
 
My business acc is Mweb, and i agree with the above, they do give good service, but at a cost. Their latency is also sucky, i think they route everything through some kind of proxy. Their pricing is not very competitive. But i will praise them for their service, something that a lot of companies in SA lack. They do of course have that silly Mweb only hardware, which i don't think is making them many friends.
