When (if?) the latency nightmare is finally sorted out, then having DNS & SMTP in CT should help keep things smoother.
Off topic: Obviously its not so easy to move POP to CT, since this would involve duplicating e-mail storage. (SMTP is just a relay, it doesn't store the contents). Having pop and smtp servers in different cities is a bit weird, but it should work transparently...
