MWEB explains WTFast MMO latency solution

I don't know why people keep going on about blizzard creating a local WoW server. Firstly, Australians, who have a much bigger and competitive player base, have been asking for one for longer then us to no avail. I mean there is even the guild Adept, ranked world 9'th atm, which consists of only Australian players. Secondly, personally i would not want to play on such a server as the skill base will be pretty horrible, i am currently in Apex on Al'akir, world rank 16, and i have not heard of another South African playing at this level. Anyway just my thoughts.

On another note the logistics of a local server would be pretty ridiculous, i mean all battlegrounds and dungeon finder groups are linked region wide, which means if the south african server wanted decent queue times, we would have to be linked with the EU realms, meaning whilst in a battleground or dungeon group it would revert back to eu latency. The other option is limiting such features to server only, which just be terrible.

I totally agree. A local server wont make sense. mm just signed up @ http://www.wtfast.com " wohoo

This isn't a simple solution when you're trying to play Guild Wars...

Guild Wars isn't added to WTFast by default, so I had to add it, and when I did it increased my latency from 290-350ms to over 1000ms

wtfast does not work, Im getting worse latency with it than and have tried the different ports under advanced. It's not a solution.

I personally subscribe to WTFast advanced, and it is sometimes erratic Rohan i agree, i just keep changing ports untill i get one that isn't broken. Usually sitting at around 270-290 world latency.

On my 384k i get ~200ms latencies so it's helping for some people.

Guys just use unshaped + gamemax.
200 ping on WOW EU (Twilight Hammer) from Cape Town.

Use BattlePing myself, very consistent 180ms to EU (Twilight's Hammer) on Mweb 4mb uncapped.

I saw on gamezone forum some users using WTFast with HoN, yet in my client the game isn't listed?

ANy ideas why or if it's even true

I'm using WTFast with Eve Online to the UK Server and have seen a drop in ms between 60-80ms my average ping is around 160-200 atm (connecting from Cape Town)

:)

As for Hon you wont see a difference locally with pings as IS hosts the servers, I havnt really looked on WTFast for hon EU :s

I don't play many public games, if any, so it wouldn't be for local games. It's mostly for MatchMaking where the server i play on are all EU

WTFast is utter rubbish. Tried it and it actually made my latency a bit worse, not sure how they are routing their stuff. The functionality seems variable..

I use WA and Battleping, sit on a constant 180-190ms to Laughing Skull EU.

Added hon in custom slot, chose germany server... searched for public games on german server and pings are no different than without wtfast

Anyone who would like help tweaking their WTFast connection to squeeze the best results out, fee free to e-mail [email protected], we are glad to help. Usually changing to a different server or changing ports is all you need to do if you are not getting the best results "out of the box". Our latest release of WTFast is also getting better results for MWEB users in general. We are getting tons of great feedback from MWEB users, especially after our latest release.
