Hi guys,

My Mweb router and range extender are up and running. I managed to login to the main wifi network being broadcast with the supplied password on the stickjer. I also manged to connect to the "FON" network being broadcast using my Mweb login details.

I assume(?) that the other available wifi network being broadcast ("MWEB EXT") is being broadcast by the range extender. My question is, how do I connect to the "MWEB EXT" wifi network? I have tried using my Mweb details on that a couple of times, but unfortunately it doesn't work.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi

Have you managed to pair the extender and the router yet?
If so, the WPS light on both devices should be green.
Once it has been paired you should be able to connect to the MWEB_EXT network which the extender.

When pairing the extender, please ensure that you have it plugged in and switch on as close to the router as possible.
If you have any trouble doing so, drop me a PM.

I have found similar symptoms in 3 separate installations where the pairing succeeds (wps leds on on both fon router and extender) , but drops after a couple of minutes (wps leds off on both) same result with extender in different positions. Even with extender in same room as router. Anyone experiences the same problem?

Hi Spykerdb,
I am having the same problem. The extender seems to pair with the router, but then no connection.
What is also very frustrating for me was, I was told I am not allowed to change the SSID or the password, because then the router will not pair with the extender any more.

I have tried to reset the router to its original settings, but still no luck.

Hi are you sorted. If yes I have the same problem. Can you help?

Hi Guys, I just bought the Router and the range extender and had the same issue with the WPS button connection, which it did not work. I did however manage to get it to work anyway.
You can edit the settings on the router and the extender by entering the respective IP address into your browser.
To Access the FON Router you must connect the router with an Ethernet cable and use the I.P address 192.168.1.1
-You can edit the SSID (name of the network ) and the Password from this panel. Normally the default username and password is "admin"
To access the Extender you must connect the extender with an ethernet cable and use the I.P address 192.169.2.2.
-You can enter it with the username and password "admin/1234" to enter the settings panel. From there you can chose the wireless network to connect to as well as set the name and password for the extensions network.

Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to get the WPS to work properly, but doing the setup manually is more customisable and in the end of the day does the job.

:D
