MWEB Gaming Feedback

GW ping ranging between 1000ms -> 2500ms :(

1095ms just to break out of MWEB's Network, that's harsh.

Weird, all my games are running fine with most pings ranging from 70 to 120.

The only problem i have now i my brother downloading from torrents and i get huge packet loss in-game with random pings.i usually get kicked for the packet loss.

Less than 400ms to Second Life now. This rocks :) Thanks a lot, Will@MWEB.

I cant play the Guild Wars at all right now. Now I have to buy bandwidth from another ISP just to be able to play. Not cool... :/

It's one thing to inconvenience customers but to not have a fix after such a long time is just shocking. The fact that people have to use other ISPs just so they can play online games (which is for many the sole reason they have ADSL) while still paying your slack asses to fix your network is just not on.

I am the first to give credit where it is due but I am also the first to complain when things are not fixed in a timely manner (I understand that from time to time, **** happens). I really can't believe that the problem is taking that long to diagnose, especially seeing as it pretty much happened around the time the "upgrades" were effected.

Ok i've been patient now.

WHY THE **** DOES MY WoW LATENCY KEEP JUMPING UP TO 6000 ON A 4MEG LINE?

Dunno, perhaps Will@Mweb is just a PR guy ( crowdpleaser ) maybe mweb doesn't care about this as much as he wants us to believe, else why is there no fix or proposed solution in progress from Mweb after all this time, it's not like it hasn't been ages since this problem with latency on Mweb uncapped started....

Hi Steven

I appreciate your frustration and I can assure you if we could ascertain what was causing the problem we would have a fix in place.

The fact is these issues are happening at the application level and there doesn't seem to be any indicator of a problem in the trace results being submitted by affected customers.

I am also exploring the possiblity that the problem is shaping related, but I will only have a proper indication of that after the weekend when tests have been completed.

I've been told that it only generally goes wrong after 18h00 in the evening and is ok over the weekend. Is this correct in terms of what you're experiencing and are any other services affected for you when this happens, or is it just the in game latency?

Will its definately happening on the weekend too

strange thing is ,when i swopped to hellkom and hard rebooted my router theping stay high for a few min and then settles down to about 400 ( for me )
not sure if this is relevant or not

@Will@MWEB

Have one of your guys phone me please as I wont spend another cent hanging on the phone. I'll PM my contact number.

My WoW latency is now spiking to 10000, my downloads (P2P and HTTP) are crawling and my speeds to international servers are appaling.

I'm paying for this month AND next month at the end of October and would be greatful if I got what I am paying for.

Waiting for your phonecall shortly

I'm still waiting Will :mad:

Thanks Mr Ops :)

Osiris I have responded to your PM as well, also please note my final point in that response - I do my best to be present here and check in over the weekends, especially when there are issues. but please don't have an expectation of instant responses from me as you may be disappointed.

Thanks
Will

weekdays is fine during the day and after 18:00 everything goes south, also weekends, local gaming is fine but int games are not working out and I have asked time and time again on this issue but all that has been done is I got a link and was told to check my ping or its a Telkom issue. So tired of this...................

When I use the crappies account from ANY ISP i get 250-300 ping in any international game

Hey there,
I've done alot of reading on the WoW Forums about the lag since wednesday, and it seems to be only affecting certain ISP's both here, Europe and in America. So something has changed since the patch that is causing certain users to lag like crazy. I've tried absolutely everything my side though so its out of my hands now but I wrote to Blizzard this morning and got this response. Just thought i'd drop it here, maybe it can help. One thing i have noticed is its a very different kind of latency I than I have ever experienced before, very inconsistent with what feels like massive packet loss and huge spikes, usually sitting aorund 5k ms.

Thanks Will.

Have had the same sort of problem the entire day, which has been incredibly frustrating. The new patch has caused havoc - I cannot log into characters in Dalaran and other toons experience 6000ms latency (although this is in random spurts where the game seems to freeze and then goes back to 6k latency).

I have tried everything suggested by Blizzard and they seem to think it is an ISP issue.

Thanks

@vaughan42 Remember that it isnt only wow with these issues.

Though this may help diagnose the issue. I am hoping that it is a simple shaping issue and not something more difficult to fix
