MWEB Gaming Feedback

Was just DC'd so I reset my router and the latency plummetted from 4.5k ms to a very normal 600ms. Not sure what happened there, but very glad with the result.

Edit: 30 minutes later and latency still very good. :)

Also experiencing 300ms-600ms latency after a reboot. Hope it holds.

Logged in, latency was running around 600ms for about 30mins, then it went up again 1800-2200ms :(

Still the same bad stuff here. Could you people who report better latency please say which realm you play on, line speed and if you use a tunneling service.

Steamwheedle Cartel, no tunneling. This realm was mentioned earlier in the day, so maybe the IP is getting special treatment. It did require a reconnect, but latency is playable again.

Okay, figure this one out....

In ICC casting spells (healer) and spells just queue, but I can have a nice real-time chat in raid or guild chat...

Cant insert Image... but...

whilst chatting and waiting for spells, had 7914ms latency reported ingame.... and did the following Trace Route at the same time...
C:\>tracert 80.239.179.110

I'm on Steamwheedle Cartel (EU) and had pretty good latency all night after rebooting router just after 18:00. I am on a 385kps line and I'm not using a tunneling service. My sincere thanks to Will if he is responsible for helping out here and fingers crossed that the problem is resolved.

@Blustorm: I've had the same experience over the last week or so with instant chatting with guildies, but latency spikes causing a queue of spells - completely unplayable.

Im still experiencing the same lag.
Was something changed on some realms and not on others? Cause i mentioned Twilights Hammer EU as well. Nothing changed here.

Getting more and more frustrating each day.

uncapped was unplayable... 1gb Mweb unshaped perfect.... so....

I am on Eonar EU (there is a guild there for afrikaans south africans / dutchies called afrikaaners is pleserig) but I am not part of that (afrikaans skills lacking!).

Just to note, when I was on my AxxessLite account, had extremely bad lag in Dalaran. HH LFD popped up and even with clicking I was booted from the tool for taking too long to respond (over 35 seconds lol). Swapped over to a prepaid Axxess gig which worked fine. Didn't have too much time online tonight so didn't bother with MWEB account.

Will post tomorrow some latencies, off to bed now.

Was great for awhile, but it all went pear shaped at about 11pm. Had to swap over to a different ISP.

Steamwheedle Cartel very playable from 06:00 this morning. Still holding thumbs that a solution has been found.

Hello there!

Can I please get some feedback as to what is being done about latency over Xbox LIVE? The biggest file I have ever downloaded was Trackmania's installation file, so I figure I am using my Mweb fairly. However, the latency I am getting doesn't seem fair to me at all right now.

Thanks in advance!

Latency around 2000ms this morning.

Well, I decided to run two connections with a traffic splitting script to solve the problem here. So WoW traffic is now running over a different ISP with low latency (+400ms).

What I did notice is that the EU Realm IP address for Steamwheadle Cartel does not agree with the list linked earlier in this thread. NetStat revealed 3 connections made: 213.248.127.130:1119 195.12.237.28:1119 195.12.237.30:6112, whereas the EU IP List showed 80.239.181.20 which is not correct. The traditional WoW Port of 3724 doesn't seem to be used either.

Latency at about 13:00 - 2856ms
Checked again at about 13:45 - 2619ms

Your post about the realm IPs listed on the Wiki made me wonder, so I ran WoW a few times with Netlimiter in the background.
Connecting to the Draenor realm, I found that IP 213.248.127.130:1119 seems to stay constant.
But the other two connections seems to change, got 195.12.234.177:6112, 195.12.234.176:6112, 195.12.234.175:6112 and 195.12.134.174:6112

@Tegnik I've done a preliminary check and XBox has recognized signatures which are being prioritized with other gaming traffic. Please can you PM your details to MWEB Operations and ask them to do an overall check on your ADSL, if they give it the all clear then we can do some further testing to see if we can improve the situation.

Yes, have since discovered IPs 195.12.237.29 and 195.12.237.31 also being used for Steamwheadle Cartel and ports 3724 and 4000 at various times. In my script I'm now routing 195.12.237.0/16 to my 2nd ISP. I have happy gamers again.

Latency on Mweb, though, is still up to maggots.

@all MMO Players

First off the port fix I mentioned for WoW yesterday would only have kicked in at 06h00 this morning, so any improvement seen last night would have been due to adjustments made earlier in the week. I've not received any confirmation that the realm specific changes we spoke about have been put in place yet.

Second point, I haven't heard any feedback from Guildwars players and had a report that LotR is fine, are we now only dealing with a WoW problem?

Thirdly I'm now seeing some mixed reports which are confusing the issue so can I please ask the following:

When experiencing the problem please Restart WoW and your router and report back if this has any effect.
Could you also please ensure that your DNS assignment is on automatic and clear any previously cached addresses (I have come across routers that do not update the automatic assignments after the initial detection)
I need views of those Ingame latency meters vs tracerts and exactly when the problem started for you.
Please can you indicate if you're still having a problem where you are in the country.

@Sillicur specifically the next time you have a problem please can you first try the router restart for me and if that doesn't help please try connecting to a different realm, just to see if there is any change.

Thanks
Will
