He tells me now after my poor line has been chugging away all evening installing the trial so I could test it further :D Luckily I was able to carry on playing Bad Company while it was downloading, guess these prioritization gizmos aren't working too badly after all :p

I'll definitely throw some hints in the direction of the guys who deal with GS - if they are going to deploy it to SA I'm sure it wont take too long. I wonder if everyone actually fully realizes yet the extent to which the GS presence here has changed and will continue to change the face of PC gaming in SA. I remember when someone in this channel asked about whether or not we were going to support Crysis 2 we actually had the servers on preorder already (I just wasn't allowed to spill the beans and spoil the surprise :D )

Will the game is a huge download, the trial you downloading is most likely only for the first stage of the game that runs up to about level 20. Maybe you will like the game and start playing - to me it's like the adult version of WOW :p btw Im on Crom server.

Well it was about 8GB of initial download - if it's like WoW then it deploys all of the content to your machine and just limits your acitvity by account. I'll definitely take look at it over the weekend :)
 
World of Tanks - WTFast UDP Beta Testing

I noticed the comment regarding World of Tanks lag and warping. WTFast 1.75 Released

I just thought I would mention that we have also just released WTFast 1.75, this is a soft release - we will be doing a mandatory release sometime next week.

I recommend all MWEB users get the latest build of WTFast, we did some tweaks that should get all MWEB users better results with WTFast "out of the box" - we have more improvements in the pipeline as well. Get the latest build here:

Will, latency started off fine with aoc yesterday but after a while it started to spike to 1k -2k and some disconnects as well. My wife played with wtfast with no problems though. I decided to run wtfast as well but I think the quick change from South African IP to a UK one got it blocked. Could not play with wtfast after that as it would not let me log in. Will try again sometime today and give some feedback.
 
Horrible Latencies

So I tried again today.

Without WTFast I get 550-780ms latencies, not great at all.

I tried WTFast and this time I could log in but nothing in the game would respond and the ingame latency monitor thought the lag was 2900ms. So far WTFast for me has been utterly useless and horribly disappointing. I'll try the new WTFast 1.75 again a bit later but so far I'm very glad I haven't paid any money for it.

I tried the game for about an hour this afternoon (long enough to get into the city and take a look around) latency was under 300, for most of the time, with the occassional spike to about 450.
 
Was fine till now... unplayable AGAIN... (From 2:30 PM)

10k Latency... lovely...

Just as I started to think MWEB is getting there act together... back in the dark ages again...

I downloaded WTFast 1.75 and tried that out. Finally I managed to get reasonable latencies. 280-330ms pings. Makes a huge difference playing with this latency rather than 700ms+.

I'll keep testing and trying out incase this was a once off performance.

Hi Veneficus, it's possible we may need to look at the signature for it on the new traffic manager in London. Can you drop me a PM with the ports and server ips if you have them available and I'll get them to take a look.

Still no Brink servers available for rent from gameservers.com. I am spamming them with request emails though :p

agreed. its rubbish, randomly just kills download speed for hours on end

It reminds me of iburst, but mweb are actually in control of it
