MWEB Gaming Feedback

Will, could you guys please have another look at the latency on Age of Conan. Im still not getting any joy with or without wtfast. I was going to cancel my mweb account but mweb has offered to give me the month of June completely free. Latencies are still often from 350 - 600 with spikes up to 2.8k and 4.8k. Again when using my backup account latency is around about 220 - 270 with very very few spikes up to 500/600.

It happens especially in the bigger area's and not so much in tortage. BTW the game is going free to play soon.

I've just now checked and AOC is going 379 - 600 as well here. afair web africa shaped gave around the 200ms mark on it, maybe I should check that next time logged in.

:e
definitely better on just the plain vanilla shaped webafrica account.

I'm having a WoW issue here. I think it started on Wednesday. I often get stuck on loading screens, either when switching zones or just logging in. Tried it with and without WTFast.
According to threads on the EU WoW forum, Blizzard might have again changed something with the WoW packets (the structure or the routing or something, whatever), so maybe it's a routing or shaping issue because of that?

Here is the related thread on the WoW forum:

Most of the people complaining in that thread use Virgin Media in the UK for their ISP. Virgin Media's response can be found here http://community.virginmedia.com/t5...broadband/World-of-Warcraft-issue/td-p/530509

I am also having this problem, since Friday night actually. I have not really been playing Wednesday or Thursday, so it might have been happening earlier than Friday. It happens most often with random dungeon loading screens, but also sometimes when using the hearthstone. About every 2nd dungeon loading screen the progress bar just gets stuck, and does not finish loading the dungeon.
At first I thought it was just the usual problems with my Telkom line/exchange, but my connection is at least always good during weekends. I did a speedtest to confirm that my line was ok (3.47Mbps download/0.47Mbps upload). I was playing today with my brothers, and they also had this problem, when my loading screen got stuck, theirs did as well. They are also with Mweb, but in a different city, and they definitely do not have a problem with their line or exchange.

Is anyone else having probs with access?? Local and International stopped here.... on my Telkom conn now.

Mweb has barely ANY bandwidth for us. My speedtest is PATHETIC and this is worse than the usual terrible service when i can't use my line during the day anyway. Wow 800-1.5kms AFTER 6pm which i wait for every day just to see if it's shaping. Mweb ASSURES me their shaping shouldn't affect my line in terms of Youtube (streaming) or gaming during the day. What a joke. You know it's sad when you're wishing you had the service of your buddies 1mb, over your 4mb line.

Ive sent through some details on a game that I want added to the gaming signatures on the shaper - costing me a lot of money buying prepaid bandwidth here - not satisfactory waiting this long for a result to my query

Mr MWEB Guy & whoever else is on here ... I know you guys have sent me a sms (or 2) saying my query is still under investigation.... Well here is another...

I run BlackTomatoMod www.blacktomatomod.com as an Rcon tool for black ops. It is not be working properly since they updated it. And hence I have been bothering the developer about this. But, Lo & behold ... If i use Afrihost, it seems to work ?!?! Come one MWEB...

The application runs by monitoring the chat logs from gameservers.com (I'm sure you know who they are - seeing you host the servers for black ops). As the chat logs are read (every 10 seconds I think it is - I could be wrong but that you can check with gameservers as they set the frequency of the log request) the application will respond to built in system commands (like !stats, !reserved.. etc -there are many of them available). This allows those with admin rights to admin their servers from in game. A very nifty tool I might say!

So please, very pretty please ... investigate what you are doing to block this app from communicating successfully...

It's shaping. EXTREMELY aggressive shaping at incredibly messed up times.

So a local HTTP log request to one of their own servers is shaped?? So badly that it times out??? =FAIL

And this app runs 24/7, so its not just business hours that are shaped!

Well that's what it seems from the point of view of their hundreds of users complaining.

Any other online games suffering from the same issues as WoW? Logging in at 90% and then disconnecting? :( The wow forums are burning up with that specific topic. Seems like our ISP might be in the clear if its only affecting wow players? Also love seeing UK clients complaining about thier ISP's. ;)

Getting the same 90% loading problem. Meh was hoping to gear up an alt tonight for a bit. Ah well, time to go play single player RPG :)

Hope Blizz sort their k@k out by Sunday!

I have this EXACT same problem, I can't even do my arenas. I'm on the Qual' Thelas realm (excuse spelling)

Loading screen stops loading at 90-100%. I'm also with Mweb - uncapped/"unshapd".

This problem started only a few days ago. It seeems fine during the AM hours, as soon as it gets to peak times then the problem persists.

Never had this problem before, only very very recently. . . I re-installed WoW, ran a complete virus scan, power-cycled the router etc etc... nothing works, FML...

Same problem, have a telkom account and it works fine. But mweb account stops at loading screen at 90%
Started happening on mon/tues... a few relogs normally fixed the problem, but now cant get past the loading screen
