MWEB hits back at Telkom

So they lower 4mbps prices but introduce throttling?

How exactly is introducing an inferior product called 'hitting back'? I'd rather go with Telkom, honestly.

Mweb alleges that Telkom will throttle on their new uncapped accounts. If it turns out in the coming weeks that the accounts aren't throttled and people are managing high usage then I'll change to Telkom. R100 more per month for over twice the speed would be great.

All Telkom Internet Uncapped accounts is shaped bandwidth based and provides unlimited data usage, however we do manage uncapped accounts on the performance of our network at any given time.

Does that mean they shape & throttle their accounts like mweb will or does that mean they only throttle under extreme circumstances

Honestly expected more from mweb, its not a hit back, more of a surrender imo

I would rather pay that R10 more per month then and get a unthrottled service from Telkom then. Seems like Telkom is leaving other ISP's in the dust. never thought I'd see this day in my lifetime. Telkom really seems to be a very decent competitor...

At least they announced this with enough time left in the month to cancel my account.

Its actually quite strange. Telkom stopped the shaping/throttling where Mweb does the opposite. Looks like Telkom is taking Mweb's crown to become ISP of the year. Never thought i would say that in my lifetime. :o
