MWEB Incompetence

Hmm maybe I should just press that they should send a techie over...
But will they charge me for this?

Ahh ok thanks.

Although I was doubting, because with Chubb (alarm company) its about R350 for a techie just to come to check up the alarm system...

But the alarm guys will show up pretty quickly while Telkom may take a while...

Hmm alarm guys don't show up fast unless you really become irate and talk to the manager, at least these are our experiences with the durban branch (the joburg branch seems much more professional).

Luke, thats just a waste of money, although I could just use a friend's account to test this.
I will phone telkom tomorrow to try get a techie here, but I will at the same time try leave mirc on with another isp, and see if it can stay connected..

Although miraculously I haven't yet been disconnected from the internet since i called mweb and telkom.
Let's hope it stays this way. if it does though, hmm...... :P

Yay it started again this evening!

Well, I met somebody on a counter strike server who was saying "who here is with mweb?"
I replied, and it seems that he has been getting the same disconnections..

I will delay calling in a telkom technician, but i don't know how to deal with those mweb retard employees.... "Errrrrrrr let me test your router settings"
me:"no, I've already checked it 10 times..."
him:"No I must check it first to tick it off the list of potential problems"
me:"Tell me the correct settings"
him:"encapsulation llc...."
me:"yes yes, LLC 8,35" I tell him all the other settings by heart.
him:"but you must first go into your router. type into your internet explorer 192.168...."
me:"why?"
him:"we must check all your settings"
me:"I just confirmed the settings which you said are correct"
him:"but you must go into your router and I will help you"
me:"I'll call later when I can get a phone next to my pc.. thanks"

:/

I had really rerrible internet the other day and the only way I could get it sorted out was by resetting the router (DG834). Left it off for a few minutes and when I switched it back on everything was back to normal. We had a bit of lightning in the area which must have affected it in some way or another.
