Help!!!

I am in Spain. I am able to send/receive emails using my laptop via my mweb account.

I cannot work out how to send emails (I am receiving) using my iPhone through the local vodafone network.

Change your SMTP server to the Vodafone Spain one.

btw. When I am at the airport using wifi I cannot send email. Does anyone know what the smtp server address will be? I have tried IS, Mweb, Telkom. none work.

Ask the people who run the airport wi-fi. Otherwise, set up a gmail account (and associate your other email address with it) and you'll be able to send mail from any network. (applies to OP as well)

ginggs : sure that is my final resort, but I am still not satisfied as I wonder how everyone else (passengers) except the BB users get along, must be frustrated?

Why frustrated? Use your SMTP server of your Mweb account, chose option "my SMTP server requires authentication" and "use the same login as my incoming mail server". Some servers require SSL. Now you can send Emails from any part of the Internet.
