Mweb issues in Wynberg Cape Town

MWEB is vol *** at the moment and has been for the last month. The fact that they are blanket denying blatant issues on their network is disheartening, as I have been a relatively happy customer for a year.

Openweb on the other hand is looking extremely tempting right now...

My folks are also struggling with this. They're on the Wynberg 3 exchange afaik. They are connected but get routed to a landing page saying "line not registered".

Hi Guys,

Please could you let me know if anyone is still experiencing any issues with connectivity.
Also include which area you are in and what what the telephone area code is. (eg: 021 761 xxx)

Also let me know if you getting error messages.

Hi MwebGuy,

Apologies for the late response.
The issue was resolved friday morning.
Everything seems back to the way it was.
Albeit sucky, i at least have connectivity.

I'm on Plugg IS in Kenilworth and having similar issues (on the Wynberg exchange)

My line syncs up, modem is connected but can't seem to establish a connection with any ISP. This has happened 3 times in the last few weeks - sometimes for hours on end.

Yesterday had major latency and the above problems for about 2 hours around 9pm.

That sounds like a Telkom issue, a crossed line most likely . I had that when I first signed up with ADSL with mweb. Luckily the mweb techie could tell me what the number was & I listed it as my 2nd line on the mweb site to at least have internet access while they sorted out the line issue with telkom

So latest development on my link is that i now have connection, but it diverts me to a landing page which says i am on the wrong number?
Seems somewhere between Tuesday and today my landline number may have changed at Mweb.

Exact same thing happened to me when i called MWeb after the outage, claimed to have been trying to log on to my account with a different number I'm 021761**** and the number was 021797**** after that speed really sucked slow youtube and general surfing, p2p shaped to 0k/s during the day until 23:30 at night.

Also thinking about jumping ship to Afrihost but be careful since there switch to MTN Backbone there clients have been warning against them check here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/439635-Afrihost-Uncapped-ADSL-Feedback/page311

See the last few days and the speeds these guys are getting. We have MWEBguy they have AfriMan he hasn't help anyone and claims that they are shaping uncapped account to lessen the load on there network (SHAPING as a solution to a inferior network)

Just a thought, use it don't use it up to you.

Same issue telkom sorted it out inside 24hours. Just add 2de number to account until then. Error 605 Line not registered
