Mweb Lied.... Duh.

I use a local news server for news and ISO hunt for my torrents, do not use any of the unshaping services and still get 300+ gig a month on my mweb.I think all these whiners just do not know how to use these download services, trying to download old nzb's and torrents with no seeders most likely.

Actually mweb is the best uncapped there is. Your're joking right? They don't throttle, and they don't cancel your account if you download 'too much......... on uncapped' like the other deceptive ISPs do. TRL Tech also don't throttle or cancel your account.
With Mweb uncapped is uncapped, but its shaped most of the day, and they tell you this very clearly.

Yeah right, their TC change about once a week. But keep telling yourself that

It is one thing to be misinformed, but please don't misinform others. And another thing, when you bandy wild insults around you should understand that it only reflects badly on yourself.

Actually you are the one who is misinformed. Various Mweb users seems to think that they are heroes or something. You accept their k@k speeds without hesitation or 2nd thoughts. If you complain about the slow speeds, they pump your head full of bull!@#$. It's like you guys don't know of anything better, you keep on using Mweb and believe all their bull!@#$ perhaps hoping that things will change for the better down the road. Sad, very sad.

I've used most of the ISPs (including Mweb [shaped uncapped and unshaped uncapped], Afrihost [capped and uncapped], Axxess [capped and uncapped]) and they all sucked. They promise you the world and all you get is k@k. Web Africa, TRL Tech, Cybersmart and FNB Connect are best ISPs out there. Their networks are very stable, they have a much lower contention ratio and you get super fast speeds. They don't throttle or over-shape and they are redundant, unlike Mweb and IS based accounts.

So in your case I would say that your current knowledge of the internet and ISPs are scary to say the least. With all respect, if you don't know what you're talking about, shut the f!@k up and stop making a fool of yourself with your lack of knowledge over the discussion.

Wow, that's serious.

Please post the source of this.

He's right, it is all over MyBB. When I've been using Mweb I was lucky if I got 100KB/sec (HTTP and FTP) on my 4Mbps line. On a 4Mbps line you should be able to achive speeds of between 300KB/Sec up to 470KB/Sec. On my shaped uncapped TRL Tech acount I normally get between 300KB/Sec and 390KB/Sec on the same protocols.

Hmmmkay...ahmigad they are stealing our internets!

Mweb sucks, it doesn't matter which way you look at it. Everything is about money for them - their local peering is a good example. They've cancelled peering with IS

Don't bad-mouth a person or company if you don't know them or never used their services

QFT.

I don't understand shaping - why?

If I paid for a 384kbps account, I should damn well be able to download and use it at 384 kbps, shouldn't I ?

It's like offering me a Wimpy bottomless coffee, but you are only allowed to order 1 cup every 40 minutes, and the cup is the size of a shotglass

Mweb sucks, it doesn't matter which way you look at it. Everything is about money for them - their local peering is a good example. They've cancelled peering with IS etc, now their clients are getting higher latencies as they've rerouted traffic. :wtf: And it is not like they are going to pass the savings on the end-user. Bunch of mofos

You seem to have missed this the first time, so let's repeat it nice and slowly: Mweb have not cancelled peering with IS.

It's one thing to share your opinion, it's another to get your facts wrong.

/Yawn

If I need it, I can do over 500gigs in a month. I don;t need to so I don't have a problem. the games I play are all fine with latency (unless there are other people using the line).

I've trialled other accounts, but price/performance wise... nothing compares.

Oh yeah, and one more thing. MWeb is a business - I have no problem with them making money off me, as long as they give me what I want. If they start slacking and resting on their laurels, I'll move - but it would need to be a damn good offer and recommended by a lot of people. the thing is - they are doing ICASA's job better than ICASA. If they get a little extra gravy from open peering, so be it. You're all just commie hippies anyway.

Well Panarottis' all-you-can-eat nights they Bring pizzas at set intervals and you get 1 slice per round rather than just putting them all out there at once :P

that's just lame, who wants to be fed like a dog, with someone "throwing you a biscuit" every 5 minutes?

I suspect the business model rests on keeping people there buying drinks to entertain them while they wait for the next slices, not at all terrible if you consider the price. R120 and you gorge yourself at a buffet,or R50 and you get all-you-can-eat,albeit slower :)

R50 will basically buy you a pizza for yourself - most people can't eat a whole pizza by themselves anyway, So that "all you can eat" special sounds dumb imo.

I would NOT want to eat one slice and then sit there staring at the roof waiting for my next meal. I would crack, seriously.... who wants to eat like that?

LMAO! i'd just buy my own pizza and enjoy it, while my "smart" friends sit there drooling, waiting for there next 4 bites =D

No.

You only need to look at the surveys to see just how many people are actually happy with MWEB.

If you just looked at posts on myBB, you'd think that there wasn't a positive thing to say about any ISP around.

People are quiet unless they're complaining. Or are idiots who can't read.

But you're paying for a shaped 384 account. If you want complete unshaped uncontended account you need to pay for it.

I agree.

Zero Cool, I said it before and I'll say it again (although a bit differently this time): You suck at discreet advertising. And then you have to badmouth other ISP's in order to promote TRL. How can I support a company represented by someone that crawl, spam and thrash.
