Hi

I have recently discovered that mweb is charging their loyal customers and only their loyal customers ridiculous price's.
I am still trying to get an actual figure but the company i recently started working for is paying R800 pm (what the admin lady told me) for a 4gb hosting package and costs arround R250.00 pm

Other than that the hosting package we are on is not only really expensive but doesn't include any email addresses. We have 9 on the account and we are paying for 7 of them. I asked him to change our package from the current one to their all new "uncapped hosting" and I was told it would take about 2 weeks , this number keeps on changing depending on who I talk to. Since this clearly isn't an option I decided to get the package we on priced reasonably and am now looking for any one else with the same problem to help join the fight!

There is going to be a bit of a read but you may find this interesting. You can help by giving me something for these guys to chew on though

It doesn't seem like you guys understand this but we have jobs, we need things to happen. I need something pretty simple to happen and its taken you 3 days we have not got anywhere when is this going to end?

I've made it clear what i want, If you had been doing your jobs and had thought that your loyal customers deserve to pay the same price for a similar offering you are giving to your new customers I wouldn't of had to waste so much time getting you guys to do what is ethical.

My biggest problem is that you wont admit you have made a mistake. Its for this very reason I have asked you to discuss my complaint on your Facebook page. My challenge to you would be to have an open discussion on this page on the issue i am complaining about.

Once we have got past this hurdle it is up to you to make amends to thousands of customers you are currently overcharging. I hope this changes my perspective of mweb. (I believe you are the picture perfect poster of corporate greed)

Ethan Rei Howard Can you please provide a proper answer to my previous post. as i have mentioned this isn't a technical issue its an issue regarding billing. We are paying far to much for this product. It isn't comparable to what you offer new clients. Create an entirely new post. In this post provide a comparison of the package we are now on with the price included and see if any one would like to be on this package for this price. Not having emails for 5 days isn't an option and it isn't an option for the rest of the people who are fundamentally stuck on the same package. What i suggest and your reply should better be responding to this is that the package be made cheaper. When you re-price the package we are stuck remember that its new price should reflect its limited functions.

Ethan Rei Howard AH buddy, not so quickly. If you think what you doing to us is fair cool. Let everybody know what package we on at the moment, Nothing would make me happier than moving to the new uncapped package but we cant do this can we? But i will make you a deal. If Mweb deactivate all of its email addresses for the 5 days we down you can do it? how does that sound?

Ethan Rei Howard No you can not move us no business can affor to be without email for 5 days its insane! Make the package we on cheaper. and offer comparable value added options to the hosting package EG:10 email accounts

Ethan Rei Howard Im talking about the package we are now, Create a banner telling consumers to get that package. Better yet compare it to the uncapped package. I will then forfeit my complaint and admit defeat. If i am correct you still offer this package. I dont see why any one in their right mind would choose it. But if its good enough for the customers who have been with you for this long why not advertise it and see if would sell? Because it is fair and all?

Ethan Rei Howard Please as i explained, lets move forward here. You either made a mistake or you are aware that the price is incomparable to what you yourselves offer in terms of features and price in which case you are deliberately over-charging customers? once you admit to one of these we can move forward. We would like the package we are on to be priced reasonably. It is a case of billing, this does not bring up technical issues! If you feel that we are not being overcharged I would challenge you to post the offer on at-least one of your social networking sites or on your website?

Ethan Rei Howard SO whats your excuse for not decreasing the price of old redundant packages? Are you aware you don't let your customers know that you have cheaper options that are better?

Mweb Guy Ethan, the product you are on is a legacy product which do not offer any longer except to those client who are on it at the moment. It is the package you signed up for and we cannot change the product without your consent.

If the product you are on was replaced by one of the new products then we would have notified you in advanced. This we've done in the past with our adsl subcribers but hosting packages tend to be a bit more difficult as web hosting products have very specific structures.

Mweb Guy Hi Ethan

As discussed our team are already in the process of assisting you with moving onto the newer product.

In any service related business it's common for new products and services to be developed all the time, this doesn't neccesarily mean that existing customers should constantly be shifted around from product to product as we develop them.

Particularly when it comes to web hosting products customers make very specific choices about the hosting platform they are on and all sorts of dependencies such as php and mysql versions can play a role in causing complications when moving a site from one platform to another.

These dispruptions could even result in a financial impact on the customer if they are paying for web developers to look after their site. As such we leave the choice of which product to use and when to move onto new products and new hosting platforms firmly in the hands of our customers.
