mweb misleading uncapped

hi
need some advise
i signed up for a mweb uncapped fibre line
was advised that the line is throttled at 1tb
when applying

we having issues where randomly
there is no internet connection
change routers
and next day connection was back

kids being on holiday the internet was
down again
i called mweb and was advised that the
line was throttled and 3 consultants
had no idea why

hout later in between getting cut off
i was advise that mweb works on
1tb\30 and the line gets throttled to
no internet
my usage on 541gb for the month
but by billing cycle is from the 5th
my usage from the 1 to 4 was140gb
so my usage is 400gb for the month

mweb consultant advised thats how
the system works

can anyone suggest other ip i should
look at

hope anyone can shed more light on this
 
I am, quite frankly, not surprised. This is exactly the kind of thing Mweb is known for. Time to switch ISP's.

It depends on who is providing your infrastructure. There are a bunch of fibre providers (Openserve, Vumatel, Octotel, etc). So that will affect what ISP's and packages are available to you.

CISP isn't a bad choice at the moment :)

Yeah being with web in the first place is your own fault. They so old school and trash
 
Can you explain why MWEB is "just gross"?

I've had my ADSL with MWEB for years (since they took over Tiscali operation) and I never had a problem.

Well I’m glad you’ve had good service.

I personally wouldn’t recommend them to anyone at all.

According to you . Can you back it up? I'd like to read your posts regarding the problems you experienced so I can make an informed decision.

Learn the hard way if you so keen on them. Their pricing vs FUP against quality of service is so bad glad I left them years ago. Look at them wanting people to even pay extra now so that the router they give you can deliver the speeds you pay for as their basic one which is free is so crap, vs any other isp who gives you the correct router to match your fibre etc
 
I spoke to MWEB today as part of my research. According to their rep they no longer throttle. (They do shape - gaming gets priority).

More than likely they lied to you. They normally deny throttling, yet you find your line is useless.

As a General Rule, DO NOT GO WITH A FIBRE PROVIDER WHO ALSO OFFER ADSL. I cannot say this enough.

And if you do decide, well screw all the people who as been on here for months and years, then you will get the We Told you so, message soon enough
 
Perhaps akash should rather believe the salesman in the callcentre. Why would they have an agenda? Not like they work for a company that makes a living selling "best effort" services?

It's way more likely that there are a bunch of shills on a local forum that conspire together to push people toward certain ISP's to satisfy their lust and craze for good internet and service.

if they can't
fix the problem
