MWEB mobile data prices unveiled

Good. I don't care for MWEB and CellC, but I hope this makes Afrihost drop their prices.

did mweb for get about there adsl clients? no new adsl uncapped prices

So where are the prices? I just see 2GB for R89 per month, where are the rest of the packages and prices?

Hi deweyzeph

The prices of the various package we offer is on our side. I suggest clearing the cache of your browser.

So then once the 3+7 promo from Afrihost comes to a end, then the 3gig deal from Mweb will be cheaper right? Still ... I have learned my lesson when it comes to Cell C network. Dont think I will go there again.

I'm currently paying R45 for 300MB on Cell C [prepaid mobile data - month to month on my cellphone].

It's R39 for 500MB with MWEB and I don't have to change my cellular provider. Looks like a bargain to me

Hey Kwerty

I can arrange for our team to hook you up with this package.

You know where to find me so that I can arrange for our team to contact you :)

Is this just for mweb clients?
I have a cellc sim. Can i buy in as well?

Hi Beri

Not at all :)

You can buy in as well. I can arrange for our team to contact you regarding the product. You can PM me your contact details :)

Hi Weasley

We most certainly didn't forget about our uncapped ADSL customers.

Our products team are always keeping their eye out on the market and pricing. As soon as we have information, we will inform you :)

Havent experienced Mweb before, but comments do give an idea on their service. Can only say that it is a pleasure dealing with Afrihost and at these prices its like trading in BMW for KIA. Dont see a reason why someone will go for this, except for those who are already on cellc and want to save some money on data by switching between APNs...

They will never pull it off. Afrihost has the best marketing team in South Africa.

Oh really? I've only really heard of them in passing and only here on MyBB. They are some minor ISP, but other then that, I know nothing of them.
Best marketing team in SA indeed

@Mweb Guy : Is this a hardcapped, or softcapped offering?

What happens if you go out of bundle?

Hi The_Librarian

Once the base cap is exceeded, you will be billed at 15c per MB.

As was mentioned by Afrihost rep, they rely on word of mouth, which is much stronger then any other form of marketing, so their advertising budget goes into offering additional services to customers, for example free Mifi devices on launch of mobile packages and promotional data.

So maybe check with your friends why they upheld from you Afrihost mobile offerings on the launch.

Can you put a hardcap on the service or is strictly softcap? OOB shark of R150/GB can cause a massive bite at 4G/LTE speeds.

I hear what you saying Franna.

We do have the facility available to check the usage via My Account.

Hi The_Librarian

This OOB rate is Mweb purely trying to trick customers into getting overcharged. How come Afrihost can cap their customers, but Mweb, one of the biggest ISP's in the country can't figure out that their clients don't like being fooled into paying R150 per gig if they go past their cap. Despicable.

This deal is perfect for me....
sure afrihost and unisa's deals are better but those will require an extra sim and mifi device....i am already on cell c and 1GB will be enough :-)
