Hey guys...

What would be the best mweb uncapped option.... unshaped 4mb or shaped 10mb?

oh and side note, the cell c 21Mb/s thingy - does it really go that fast? can you game on it? what are speeds like? shaped?

Wireless is never good for gaming- got a latency of about 120-140 to saix servers using 7.2mbps vodacom 3G, im sure you will get about the same latency with cell c's 3.5G.
If you want to use mweb, take the unshaped package. 10mbps is great, but you wont see that speeds most of the time, maybe from 9 or 10 the night.

why dont you look at axxess just uncapped express+ ? throttled during the day but full speeds (what your line is capable of) after hours and weekends with no aup during those hours.

Err since MWEB stopped peering with SAIX, we have 500ms ping (on ADSL) with SGS.
Just FYI's.

I know its total BS, cant even play local cod4 anymore...
thanks mweb, you have officially freed the web!

Just get a Web Africa prepaid local only account and then play on the WAGE servers :)
Or simply play on the WAGE servers from Mweb.

My latencies from Mweb CPT to WAGE is like 30ms ! But I've heard that people in Jhb's traffic to WAGE gets routed via UK!

You can use iGame, WAGE (Cape Town only) or IS's servers and apparently MWeb are bringing out their own gaming solution soon.

But SAIX is meant to be the best, except you're supporting Telkom in general and in the peering war.

wrt your question, it depends what you want the account for. 4mb unshaped will perform better during the day for P2P and everything else non-http, while 10mb will get higher download speeds after hours. I think with both services you could pull at least 1Tb quite easily, so the amount probably isn't a problem in which case 4mb unshaped will perform better in general. If you do want to download massive amounts (not sure where you could even store this :p) then 10mb would be slightly better, although being able to download at full speed daytime on unshaped will make them quite equal.

Definitely wouldn't consider CellC for a serious broadband connection, it will be wireless and dependant on signal etc and you'll only get about 7-20GB a month with far worse latency. Don't see how that can compare to uncapped ADSL.
