Also take a look at the WA prepaid packages, they may save you money because your unused GB's carry over indefinitely until you use them.

Excellent!!!!!!

I wasn't aware that WA allowed you carry over your unused prepaid GB's!
MWeb's top-up packages are reset at the end of each month, so if you don't use it, you lose it!!!!
Which, to me, is like filling up your car with petrol, only to have it syphoned out again by the petrol company at the end of the month because you didn't use it all. SOD THAT!!!!!!

WA wins on priciple! Hooray :)

All i need is for Telkom to FINALLY plug me in and i'll be knockin' on WebAfrica's door . . .

Thanks, Carlhead!!!

I have 2 choices for ISP ( dont ask why)
Which would be best and why ?
1) Mweb
2) Telkom
...
IMO neither MWeb [charges more than double compared to several reputable ADSL ISPs] nor TelkodemonopoliesHindernet [this beast should not exist in both the wholesale & retail spaces, plus it sets the benchmark for overcharging].
I think you seriously underestimate how un-knowledgable & confused the average person/business outside these forums is about ADSL/broadband. Without MWEB's marteking blitz far fewer ppl would aware of the existance & advantages of broadband.

While MWEB's offerings have little appeal to the ppl around here, they have their place in the market ... entice Joe/Jane Soap to give broadband a try. By helping to bulk up the broadband adoption numbers, the total user base moves closer to having real critical mass. This will enhance users/businesses ability to demand price drops and regulation changes.
A good point that MWeb does advertise ADSL and does help to bulk-up on the illusion of economies of ADSL scale.

Perhaps MWeb should join forces with Telkodemonopolies' marketing department, and together they could perhaps cough up less corny adverts for ADSL whilst continuing to overcharge customers...

Without their combined marketing spend, the total ADSL user base would probably consist of 25000-50000 tech savvy customers. A more favourable situation in your opinion?

Which ISP

My daughter and I share a 3GB cap with Mweb.We seldom exceed 1Gb per month thus losing the unused portion every month.I personally have never had a problem with Mweb.I am seriously thinking of going prepaid on an ISP where I can pay upfront for Gbs and carry any unused portion forward from month to month until I need to replenish with a credit card. Both my daughter and I require 2 separate E mail addresses downloadable via outlook express with a satisfactory E mail inbox.Mweb gives you 1Gb.Constant speed and value for money are important and a minimum of 2 concurrent sessions must be allowed.I will try the ISP for a month and then make the decision.Which ISP would you suggest as I do require service especially in the technical department side.

Yip WebAfrica are the only guys who offer data rollover into the next month. I'm sure they'll be able to hook you up with more concurrent connections.
