Hi Guys

Does MWEB still peer with any local ISP

Thanks
DD

Most probably, as long as you are in a mutual location with them I don't see why not. Ie. if your network is at either CINX or JINX there is a good chance you could get peering with them.

Afaik the only people not peering with mweb is telkom.

Hi All,

What Prophet has said is correct, we peer with all ISP's except Telkom.

MWEB Guy

dd1313 I assume you want to set up peering to M-Web? Yes/no? Send MWEB Guy or me a private message and request the contact details, ala. E-Mail address ect. I hope you will be adding your network on to peeringdb.com as well.

Afaik too :)

Just bear in mind that peering is local and does not go over national transit, so the other ISP must have a presence at either JINX, or CINX for us to peer with them at that location. If in doubt a tracert will show you where the traffic is going.

If you customers/clients need to access your services on your Telkom or Mweb networks:

Mweb to Telkom SAIX - International Routing via UK
Telkom SAIX to Mweb - International Routing via UK
IS to Mweb - Local Routing via JINX or CINX
Mweb to IS - Local Routing via JINX or CINX
Tenet (ac.za) to Mweb - Local Routing via JINX or CINX
Mweb to Tenet (.ac.za) - Local Routing via JINX or CINX
Neotel to Mweb - Local Routing via JINX or CINX
Mweb to Neotel - Local Routing via JINX or CINX

We all know that Telkom is now peering with MWEB... My new connection that I have, is through AMOBIA and I am on the capped package which uses Telkom BW. I mainly use my connection for COD BO and it was running fine, until yesterday, when I started getting heavy lag spikes.

I logged a call with AMOBIA, since I thought it was my connection, but have noticed that I only get ping spikes when testing to servers hosted by MWEB.

Anyone know if there is problems with the peering between Telkom and MWEB?

@Sharkie :p

I have been getting heavy lag spikes on black ops myself and I'm on mweb. So I spoke to some guys from Voodoo gaming and they seem to believe its due the undersea cables being brought online (wacs). I'm not sure how valid that is, but I suppose it is possible.

I don't think it's that, since the servers are hosted locally and you don't connect abroad to play locally. or am I missing something here?

I think it may be steam related. Although there are steam mirrors, I think that we still validate overseas somewhere. Maybe I'm talking utter bs... But I've basically stopped playing blops anyway... BF3 time :)
