MWeb Premium 1M vs uncapped 2M

MWeb offer a uncapped premium 1Mb and a uncapped 2Mb for the same price.

I browse, and partake in casual gaming (minecraft, Rift, WoW etc).

Why would I take the premium line at half the speed?

Im on Afrihosts 1Meg Uncapped business package (unthrottled and unshaped) for R397 incl telkom DSL line (2meg)

...in fact, an AH Uncapped 2m Business Bundle is 10 bucks less than my 2m Premium Uncapped account with Mweb...

They may not say it's being throttled, but I'm not even hitting 80GB/30 days yet, and my streaming and downloads are at a grinding halt on my 2m Premium account.
I'm very disappointed at the moment. People warned me, I didn't listen, and here I am.
I'm probably going back to my 4m Home account... at least there I got to 110GB before being cut down at the knees.

Well you aren't the OP, so we do not have any information about your story.

Then you probably have a Telkom / line / equipment fault, if turning off your modem for 20 minutes / a port reset / account reauth has not resolved your issue.

I suspect it is only in fact downloading you're having issues with, in that case downloads receive lowest priority on the network (rightfully so) and you should wait till after ±00h00.

Nope. Had a port reset done, no dice. Tested with a capped account, works perfectly.

Nope, having issue with streaming media as well, as we as http/ftp downloads. I also thought it was only torrents, and I agree, those can be managed.

Point being, and getting back to the OPs question, a premium account isn't all that. If you remain below the throttle threshold, rather go for the higher bandwidth.

Then it has to be an isolated sub-regional immediate-area issue.

Indeed, the only difference is thresholds.
