I have to say, that admission surprises me and impresses me more than anything else Afrihost has done since the R29/Gb offer hit. Well played.

From what I'v heard, Afrihost only seems to be good in Joburg. The speeds in smaller cities like PE aren't mind blowing.

That shouldn't be the case, we access the same broadband network (Telkom) as every other ISP. If you are actually experiencing the slow speeds you mention, please PM me your username.
Not me personally, my friend. We were comparing speeds as I'm on Mweb. Also hear complaints while online gaming from people in my area about it. Maybe just stigma, I don't know. That just what I heard.
I would just like to inform you MWEB guys out there that they are going to drop the 4mb and 10mb prices quite soon!
Hi guys
I can't confirm or deny what has been mentioned.
I can assure you that our customers will be the first to know if something like this happens.
Based on what Afrihost just did, Mweb will have to pull an elephant out of the hat now. Bless the all mighty price war.
I have a dream... A Dream filled with HD streaming from youtube, online video rentals, better dropbox uploads, and HD video chats with hong kong.
While 512Kb got to go to 1024Kb and 312kB will get 1024Kb, and 1024Kb will go to 2048Kb, 4Mb customers have stayed the same.
That is untill afrihost droped the bomb today.
So will you Mweb change our fates, and gives us 10Mb at a reasonable price?
Edit: Fixed bad sizes
The problem with that is available and general quality of adsl in certain areas. With the new afrihost pricing I don't see any reasonable person staying on the very expensive 3g.
Different needs for different technologies... fixed vs mobility or zero fixed line availability, etc. With the new afrihost pricing I don't see any reasonable person staying on the very expensive 3g.
Hi FaSMaN
There has recently been a lot of speculation and discussion in the ADSL market as a result of the planned Telkom line speed upgrades scheduled for August and September. We are currently reassessing our ADSL product range in lieu of these line speed changes and we’ll let you know well ahead of the time if we plan to make any changes.
