I have these options available for my location. Could someone enlighten me why the uncapped options are cheaper than the softcaps? On their web site, the first thing you see is they claim the R579 option to be uncapped and unthrottled. What could be so different? Is anyone actually using MWEB? How is it for online gaming since that would be the focus. Thanks.

probably because on the uncapped the upload speed is limited to 2 or 5Mbps
They make you pay extra for a symmetrical speed ( i.e 10/10 rather than 10/2 or 10/5)
Go the uncapped route and see how your experience turns out.

Howdy I use Mweb for gaming, i currently have the uncapped 100mb option and have zero issues with it :) Since they implemented no throttling its been perfect :).

If you have the option of Openserve they have a cheaper unthrottled uncapped (10/2, not 10/5 though) option through MWEB.

Can't really speak for Fibre, but I have the uncapped ADSL package, and they have a fair use clause in their contract when I joined - they didn't include a table of what their caps per package was - there is a list buried deep on their website that shows you your GB limits, after which they will throttle you. Ask them for the table BEFORE you enter into a contract with them, even if it is a link to a section on their website with the required info. :)

Also, the 20mb uncapped option on Opesenrve is R100 less than Octotel. R699 vs R799 , thats rather a large difference.
