Hmm, I've been fine this weekend - torrents going at 280kb/s (okay, not optimum, but meh), gaming is going mostly lagless...

If you are dc'ing you have an underlining problem, i have not disconnected at all this week apart from when i switched my router off for a storm

Purring like a kitten :)

Of course im not Whiskey Tango like the other failures here, so dont need to deal with Whiskey Tango lines. (384).

160kb/s ... max i'm getting...

Who's your isp?

Torrents using uTorrent over weekend:wtf:

OPENWEB "High Bandwidth Unshaped" 30Gb @ R549 = 44kbps
AXXESS 4mb Uncapped Shaped @ R496 = 35kbps (first weekend got +200kbps untill 20GB)
AXXESS normal where I pay R59 per gig = 256kbps:confused:

My Account going at max speed - Maybe get your Telkom line checked ;) Torrents doing 35+ and HTTP doing 40-48

And my speeds have been pretty consistent , I've moved 3-4gb everyday , which is more than i bargained for. If i keep up this pace I'd easily get over 100gigs on my 384 Account , which is lovely :D

Oh , and Sure getting torrents shaped 20 hours out of the 24 hours a day sucks , but stop being lazy then and embrace alternative methods running at full speed while you can. Excluding Rapidshare most of the other hosting sites i've used all ran 40+ peak hours. We might not have "optimal" uncapped , but we sure as hell have uncapped.

I`m on one of the free mweb 512kbps accounts....getting like 2kbps. Its not line related, other isps capped accounts go full 4mbps speeds.

Hi All,

As mentioned in other posts, during this ramp-up phase the load/capacity ratio on our network will be dynamic (signups/migrations vs. capacity expansion), specifically in respect to non-priority capacity (for torrents, news, rapidshare etc.). We are releasing as much capacity as possible during off-peak periods for this purpose, but this will always be within the confines of maintaining a premium experience for priority activities/traffic.

If you are experiencing performance issues which seem outside the norm, please provide specific details so that we can investigate (you are welcome to PM me).

MWB.

Yeah I am on a free 512k uncapped account and I am easily getting full speed. Browsing is blazing fast and I am actually currently testing this in Pretoria, before this weekend I was in Cape Town and I have had the same experience in both locations.

Few tips that might help.

1. Try any other downloading method before you resort to Torrents/P2P
2. If you must use torrents, make sure you do NOT use encryption/SSL, that way you might get lucky and download of the caching server instead of the actual peer who could be really slow as opposed to a unshaped/un-throttled caching server. If it is what I think it is, you would be surprised how good those devices work. In fact, try to tell your torrent client to refuse using encryption/SSL if possible. Also you don't need it to actually work via port forwarding ect, caching server doesn't need that.
