Hey Guys

I know they had a seacom fault that were sorting out but i am sure that was sorted out. As of now my downloads are maxing out at 36kbs on a 4096 adsl line.........is anyone else having this issue or is just me.....

On a second note does anyone know the correct settings for FDM as my speed maxes out at 180kbs per file but i can download 2 at that speed wich totals 360kbs. i CANT download 1 file at that speed.....Is there something wrong with my settings or is that normal.....:(

Had 360KB/s max early this morning, later dropped to about 250-290, going at 80 now for torrents. Youtube is unbearably slow X_X 480p video is taking aaages to load. *shrugs* *waits it out*

Seacom is down for maintenance today, it never actually happened last week, so nothing was sorted out. There are a lot of announcements about it.

Alestorm...i know that, but 11am my speed went back to normal and now it dropped totally

Yeah.. its been a bit erratic today..
and international is problematic really... sessions keep getting reset etc etc...

Mine is also pretty slow on 384. What I find very odd and more than suspicious, is that Speedtest.net is showing a near-normal result. They must be prioritising that website or something else is going on.

Aaah

Ah, the intricacies of bandwidth management. I can guarantee everybody, somewhere in a secret location is a group of MWEB and Internet Solutions Engineers monitoring and tweaking the situation very carefully. : )

When you loose a backbone link, and you still get reasonable transfers, thats f#$^%k magical man. you try route a 90Gbps baseload over back-haul satellite, incumbent fiber and all sorts of other nasties coming in all over the place. Its not like we knew it was gonna rain and everyone and their grandaddy is surfin the Net.

"Uhm. Hi Astra. Its raining all over the country. We're gonna need another 10Gbps so the little nunu's can watch their yoo toob and the little crack-heads can hoard terabytes of torrentz (to be "cool") even though in 2 years your just gonna be streaming whatever you want to watch anyway."

Strangely I can't even access any webpages on my Mweb account, yet my Axxess gets to them fine? Even local.
It's rather disturbing.

I've been redownloading my PS3 content since last night and it came down quite nicely, but currently it takes about 10 minutes for 1MB, but my normal browsing is still quite acceptable on M-Web.
