Hi All,
What was up with Mweb this weekend? I was doing 400KB/s for 80% of the time?
Usually i get 12GB/day, this weekend was all over 20!
Did they upgrade again? let the good times roll!

I have had a fairly decent month, averaging 8GB a day during the week and 20GB a day on the weekend :D I am loving Mweb :D

It was good till last week, my 4mb uncapped dropped from 400 - 480kbps to 15 - 80kbps. Still waiting on their tech department to call me and tell me whats up.

I have been enjoy great speeds for the largest part of this month. Downloaded over 50gigs already. Also at +300KB/s, lets hope it stays like this.

I get full speed all the time... 415Kb/s down.
That's roughly a GB and a half in an hour.

We have all my work software backed up on our server... it's easier for me to download the 2 CDs off the server than to drive to work, pick them up and return.
I can also order software from Americaland and not pay twice (in the past, 10GB of international bandwidth was the same price as some of the programs.)

I can also finally download all those Demos available on PS3 Network and even buy ENTIRE GAMES without worrying about being stuck in the butt with bandwidth limitations!

I'm finally enjoying the benefits of a decent amount of bandwidth available.

Now all we need to sort out is to get some decent IP based services up and running (DSTV on demand over IP is disgusting quality... but it's a first step!)

yip good stuff! Installed the youtube plugin for media portal....what a pleasure! just plonk down and do some youtube surfing on my couch.
my media center also downloads all the trailers...no need to be fussy about bandwidth anymore...
it's expensive but worth it!

I asked this question elsewhere but since I am not getting a response I was hoping someone here would answer it for me?

What is your download speed during the day (weekdays)?

What is your download speeds like after hours during the week & on a weekend?

How much can you download before they throttle you?

What do you average in GB's / month?

Looking forward to your responses.

I'm a 4MB user so I won't be able to help you with the speed and GB average on the 512 account, but Mweb will never throttle you. The only catch is that the account is shaped 24/7 meaning that some protocols are given priority over others during certain times of the day. There is no limit you can download with them. I've heard of people downloading incredible amounts without a peep coming from Mweb. I actually started checking my Mweb mailbox to see if there's any letters to stop/slowdown downloading after I passed 100GB last month ... and nothing.

Hopefully someone else can help you with your speed questions. Although if you want to download full speed during the day I would recommend having a look at DownStorm.

Thanks very much for the response Vonnii, I will keep that in mind.

Average per day for May so far - Sent: 480MB | Received: 1538MB | Total: 2018MB

I know, I know. . . I'm on a 384k line :o

Speeds are terrible lately :mad:

General browsing is a breeze in the evenings and I usually get 30 to 35 kbps on well seeded torrents (tho I can't surf and download at the same time - it's a frustrating exercise). Downloading seems to be heavily shaped during business hours tho. I only use my 384k line in the evenings and on weekends anyway so I can't really complain so far.

still cruising here....

This month so far haven't pushed it yet.

Total Downloaded: 503.95 GB
Total Uploaded: 23.60 GB

Ping = 60ms Local
Ping = 240ms Int.

my mweb aint working like it should. I have 4mb uncapped and all I can say is that its average. u people telling me that you are getting 400 day and night either work for mweb or are to scared to say that the uncapped in this country is not yet stable. I do however get full speed after hours which is getting later and later every day. used to be from 9pm now its close to 1am. I can only hope it gets better.

About 20KB/s during the day, picking up to about 30KB/s in the early evening and going at full speed (52-56KB/s) after midnight. This is during the week off course.

It's hard to say how many GBs I average per day as I'm not a download whore, but I left it running 24/7 on one of the weekends and averaged 3.8GB per day.
