Mweb Uncapped 4Mbps Question

If I get a uncapped 4mbps line from Mweb, what will the speeds of http downloads be? (Im am referring to shaping and how much they shape file hosting sites)

Theoretically 512 kilobytes second, but it is fair to expect 450 kilobytes per second.

I pulled down a DLC for ME2 earlier today at 320-380kB/s.

When you say http downloads, do you mean from filehosting sites? If so, they are shaped along with Torrents, but regular webhosts should be perfectly fine.

During the DAY Mweb is very shaped according to site and protocol. So during the day downloads from File Hosts or P2P will snail .
At the moment if I download something from megaupload or hotfile I only get around 60Kb (fluctuates abit) which is rather pathetic.
Torrents will also be super slow during the day. ..but like i said its site and protocol specific so normal sites you get full download speed during the day.
I just downloaded MS Security Essentials at over a 1MB\s so :/ ( from microsoft )

but at night restrictions are lifted and they allow you to download at over a meg\s (1MB\s usually no lower then 950Kb) with both file hosts and P2P .
so roughly 3.5 Gb a hour if know how to download at line speed.

Gaming Latency are good though.. MWEB gives you 8mb ( 1MB\s + - actual maximum Download ) con connection speed so if you synching at 10megs.. you will have 2meg worth of bandwith to plays games with
while you download at over a MEG

It's quite bad during the day, can go from 40-400Kb as it varies a lot between the different file hosts. Downloading from these sites isn't bad overall on MWeb, it's mainly what I use. You can usually get full speed after hours, but some sites seem to limit themselves with the free service.

Agreed, RS goes full speed so do most file hosters. I don't torrent at all but I hear it's heavily shaped.

Edit - My experience with full speed is limited primarily to evenings or after hours and over weekends. I can't say what the speeds are like during the day though.
