MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Tomorrow will be my last day with mweb. Excellent service initially, but since oct last year my 1mb account has been behaving like a 512kb one. Credit to mwebguy for trying to help but ill probably move to telkom or another isp.

Seems better Browsing is still slow sometimes.

Yes@ I had the same spike just now! had to reboot my bonded router! looks abit better now!
 
Anyone else having sky high latencies and packetloss? ping to 8.8.8.8 is 1444ms

Have you made contact with our Business support team as yet?
 
Will wait for it to spike again, It spikes for like a minute from 250ms to 1400ms, then back normal again. All my telkom lines are fine! when testing with a different ISP. As soon as it happens ill post results

Dealt with business support last week, they blamed my adsl lines, and there were no problem at all with my lines! So I dont wanna phone them anymore!
 
sometimes gotta reboot router to fix speed but besides that alls good with mweb. i have a 1MB subbwith them

Got an email from MyBB linking me to new ADSL prices for mweb and telkom.
Can you give me a breakdown of the differences in the premium uncapped and the throttled uncapped accounts?
Just looking at the telkom price I am really thinking about swapping to it because using their premium account would be R300 cheaper than what im paying now.

The new throttled accounts are directly comparable to the Telkom products, who are also throttled products.

Our premium products are not throttled.

The premium products are not throttled, meaning we will not limit the speeds of an individual user based on throttling thresholds being reached.

This is essentially the main difference between the products, as they are both shaped products. (excluding the unshaped products of course).

Thanks. Thought the telkom wasnt throttled at all.

So i checked up on my mweb adsl package when i heard about the new telkom rates.

Firstly, it turns out ive been reamed for the past few months because ive been paying R488 per month for 1meg uncapped but the advertized price is R339 ???

Called the help desk to upgrade my account to the new 2meg uncapped at R449 and after holding for about half an hour i was told in a 20 second conversation that i must send an e-mail to make the change (couldnt mweb mention this on their web site under the 'you may be eligible for an upgrade' section? it will save their customers a lot of time and phone costs)

I specifically mentioned in the e-mail that i want the 2meg at R449 but i just checked my account status and i am on the 'premium' R599 package.

I checked the speed on this 'premium' package and only get 1.7meg how much slower will it be on the non premium?

mweb have lost the plot, TELKOM HERE I COME...
