Hi, i can assure you that we have not changed our shaping rules at all.

Is it only with youtube that you notice this ?
 
I am also getting whacked with severely reduced speeds on YouTube. I mean at the moment on my network I have a torrent downloading @ 12 KB/s and no other activity whilst a YouTube video @ 360p is crawling.

We're currently experiencing a problem with a our telephony system.

If you're still having trouble with youtube, please supply me with the previously requested info. To those who have already supplied the info, thank you.

1) when did the problem start
2) nature of the problem (slow, just buffers, freezes, etc)
3) youtube stream speed
4) does it happen on another PC/device when tested.
5) account type
6) Region
7) are you able to stream from another similar site and what is the experience like (dailymotion, metacafe, vimeo, veoh, etc)

Also include the time of day these problems occur.

1. For me it started around last week Wednesday (27/02/2013).
2. The video will load, play for 3 seconds, freeze up and then buffer for the next 30 seconds before playing the next 3 seconds of the video. Rinse and repeat.
3. Don't know what you mean by this, but I think you mean the quality in which case it is usually @ 360p.
4. Yes.
5. 4 Mbps uncapped.
6. JHB.
7. Yes, the experience is pretty much the same as YT.

Hi Everyone

The telephony system is operational now. You should be able to call the contact center and speak to a consultant.

Can anyone see if we are going through SAT3?

Last time I was having youtube problems. Once it was resolved then suddenly Mweb came out and said "Oh we had Seacom issues and we routed everyone through SAT3 and nobody noticed". Well I f uc ki ng noticed.

Then youtube was fine again for about a week, and now for the last couple of days it's been unusable. All three of my Mweb 4mbps accounts are doing it. My Telkom accounts are fine, and my afrihost accounts are fine, and my plugg accounts are fine.

Thank god we have Mweb guy here who can constantly answer our questions with more questions until they fix their problems.

btw i think you can safely assume that youtube is now proper $#@!ed 24/7 and therefore dont need to collect more stats?
its stuffed in any manner possible. there you go, you can get started with repairs now...
 
Youtube is fine as long as you just want to watch the first 2 seconds of every video.

1) Since I flew back into the country 11 Feb
2) Buffers constantly +- 15min of buffering for a 4min video on a 1meg data from you and 2meg line from telkom EDIT:- @240p
3) Between 3 and 30kB/s
4) Yes, Laptop. Desktop Firefox, Chrome, IE(yes I was that desperate) and cellphone connected through wireless.
5) 1meg uncapped "PREMIUM"
6) Westdene Johannesburg
7) No, all video streaming taps out at 30kB/s, supersport.com worked during the Bulls game but died for the Sharks game completely on Sat

All day everyday even when it rains...
 
To me it seems like Im back on the 2MB throttled account which I promptly cancelled last month. Youtube, international browsing and torrents are not going above 30kb/s on my 2mb uncapped account.
 
My youtube only plays the first 2 seconds of a video then it stops. It doesnt even have the spinning circle thing that shows its buffering.
 
Thanks to MWEB Guy my crap seemed sorted out last night (p2p, Youtube issues)
4Mb Line speed seems to be capped at 1.5-1.8Mb right now *sigh*
(literally having to keep open two youtube videos at 480P and they're buffering DAMN slow)

This is the first time I've had to complain in months.
Please guys, if there's issues let us know... we're not unreasonable, we'll understand.
If not, then take this as a formal complaint.

EDIT 2.0 (My Account Finally Finished after 5+ minutes):

Upload Speed: 530 kbps (66.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 14 ms
