Hi MWEB Guy, it's been two days since I was told someone would call me back about the R539 MWEB have stolen from my bank account. What is happening about this?

Hi Garethy, send me your MWEB details and I will follow up on this.

@ MWeb Guy,

Seems I have to eat my words.

Missed calls from Mweb service center number on my cellphone. Please ask them to call me after 17h30 - I'm in meetings until then.

Hi MWEB Guy,

Please can you make sure that the R539 is paid back into my bank account? I do not want your accounts department to just add it as a credit to my MWEB account.

Thanks

Hi MWEB Guy, it's been two days since I was told someone would call me back about the R539 MWEB have stolen from my bank account. What is happening about this?

Feedback:

I called the Call Centre this afternoon - nice lady explained that:

1. Debit order for R539 has gone through
2. Two months of future billing debited to account (April and May)
3. Account is therefore R481 in credit
4. Email from me to billing [at]mweb [dot] co [dot] za requesting R481 to be refunded will result in me being refunded.

Email has been sent - waiting to see when the money will hit my account.

Oh, and I received a phone call at 16h45, so thank you MWeb Guy, they evidently do listen when you pass requests through.

Must say that I didn't expect the debit order to go off and fortunately the R539 doesn't break the bank for me (can afford to carry it) but others might not be so lucky.

So, I am now officially on the R29 per month plan, and everything is working as expected.

Thanks for your help.

Morning ChrisGeo

Please let me know, other than the issue provided, how is your overall experience?

Must say that I didn't expect the debit order to go off and fortunately the R539 doesn't break the bank for me (can afford to carry it) but others might not be so lucky.

It's not a case of whether I can afford it or not. The fact is that mweb have taken money from my account for payment of an adsl account that has been cancelled and is no longer active.

It's theft.

I seem to be getting extremely bad pings to most international sites. Gaming on League of Legends with a ping over 300ms this morning. Ping local sites and it seems fairly normal, from jhb to capetown getting +- 30/40ms and to servers in jhb getting about 14ms which seems normal. But anything overseas is between 200ms to 900ms and it can be 200ms on the first hop and 900 on the second hop. Doing a ping -t gives me an average of about 311ms.

Anyone else battling with international again this morning?

Latency on both my unshaped static IP account & home uncapped account are in over 300ms to local and 700ms to international.

Speeds are below 1meg mark again......

Mweb Guy whats broken this time?

Youtube is very, very slow. Streaming IPL cricket from supersport.co.za currenly works for 3 seconds but then stops with the "loading" indicator sitting on the screen and it never continues to stream - 4meg uncapped DSL

Same here. Disgusting service

The partnership between MWEB and Monochoice is probably the reason WHY it's nearly impossible for us to watch IPL live without experiencing terrible lags

Finally had a day off today so I took the initiative to try get things sorted.

Phoned Telkom and got my port reset and confirmed with them that the exchange I am on is not congested. This is the exchange: http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/exchange/WWG+

Did a tracert before I phone Telkom. Was the usual 400 to 500ms on the first hop. When I got my port reset, it was down at 11ms for the first time in weeks! Bliss! Had an awesome day of internet today. But of course, the lag monster is back this evening, streaming radio sputtering away and rubberbanding in GW2. Here is your sacrificial lamb:
