MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

For youtube I recommend Fastest Tube downloader. Most of the time it downloads the videos from the local Mweb cache so you get them very fast and save Mweb some international traffic.

Roux I have to refresh every YouTube video i watch 3 or 4 times for it to play. This is supposed to be an unshaped premium account. Not happy, not happy at all.

Just be thankful it's working for you.

I have this same issue, although I think it has more to do with my exchange as my line quality has been degrading slowly over the last couple of months... I am moving to a new place soon, so hoping this will resolve the issue i have. Holding thumbs.

What with the heavy shaping today,,

My 3 Gig download from this morning which normally takes around 2 hours on my 4 meg line, is still downloading now (started at 6am), even at 6am I only got 120kb (quarter line speed), and nornamlly get full speed that time of the day,
using news server.. (international and local provider combined)

What I cannot understand is that a month or so ago NNTP traffic wasnt shaped. i got full line speed any time of the day when downloading

Lately it speed starts to drop around 8 in the morning and then by the time 4pm comes the speed is around 30kb/s on my 2mb unthrottled line

So is NNTP deemed to be the same as torrents and howcome Rouxenator can be dling at decent speed right now but im shaped.

This service is slowly getting worse and Im having to consider other ISP's which I dont want to do

already given my months notice. will be moving to afrihost 100gb for R399

I used to be very happy with Mweb (last few years now). But having serious issues with torrents last few weeks. Usually my torrents ran at close to full speed day and night (250 - 400 KB/s on 4 mbit/s uncapped). Last few weeks around 50 KB/s day and night.

Testing with Speed test I constantly get around 15ms latency, 6-7 mbit/s (syncing higher than 4mbit/s at exchange), 0.8 mbit/s upload on my line, and normal web downloads is at full line speed, but torrents cr*p slow.

Anything to check on my side?

Hi leonb

Torrents receives the lowest priority on our Network. These speeds have never been guaranteed and such services are contended.

Mmm, sounds capped, that's sooo 90's :)

Strong suspicion you work for Mweb. I have given up on my 4MB uncapped account during the day, and use a capped account since it works. What's the point of an uncapped account if you can do anything with it during the day. Useless.

I know that.... but why only the last couple of weeks. Were I just lucky the last 5 years?

SO sick and tired of hearing this..

Sometimes I wonder if there is even a guy or girl on the other end of the account of Mweb person, same thing over and over and over the whole time makes me think we are talking to a bot???

How can the speeds for so many users have dropped this last week but such a HUGE margian and all you can say mweb person that it gets lowest priority???

Then riddle me this: local MWEB server for bf3 and getting 400-800 ping???????

Cant watch the apple byte on Cnet, as it pauses the whole time... why is mweb so bad today

and its not a congested exchange...
