MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

It seems Mweb has absolutely no backup capacity whatsoever, even local sites struggle

As far as I'm concerned they are 100% dependant on MTN and could easily suffer the exact same issue if MTN had a network failure.

Yes they have, the EASSY cable is also out at this time, http://www.afrihost.com/site/network_status along the same routes as SEACOM, we did not even know that there was a outage on EASSY, we only noticed that throughput speed decreased as the QoS shaping prioritised the traffic after all traffic was automatically re-routed via WACS.

Why am I experiencing such intense pleasure now after reading this?
 
Afrihost is like worlds apart in comparison how lame mweb is at the moment.

Evening, you can't compare us to another provider during an outage.

We certainly have allot going for us, e.g. DOTA 2 servers :p

Are you guys gonna do anything to ensure automatic fall over onto a backup system for the next time this happens?

24 hours of downtime is gonna make a lot of people upset.

They have just been launched and we are still working very closely with Valve to get them running without any issues.

Remember, another first for the gaming community in south Africa...

This is not something that happens often and normally we just need to re-route traffic via another cable. On this occasion more than one cable was affected which caused the problem.

Of course I can.

You are the worst between CMC, Web Africa and Afrihost. I can't even properly open Facebook with Mweb where as Afrihost it just shoots open. And guess what Afrihost is also rerouting. *shogun voice* Shameful display.

Hey, how about backup bandwidth for outages? I can't even do Gmail or anything during these outages! Not impressed!
 
It's been like this for the entire day. I can't open anything international. Really thought they would have sorted some backup bandwidth by now.

Guys I understand that we are being affected by the outage more than some of the other providers at the moment.

There has been occasion's during this year and last year when we were not affected by outages and they were.

This is not something we like either and we will do all we can to get the network running as per normal as soon as we can.

I do but when you end your reply by boasting I can hardly take you seriously or see you professionally. You end off sounding like an ANC apologist saying that we shouldn't talk down the country.

Still mweb was quite dead this morning and even local sites couldn't load properly. At least more sites is working now, but about any other ISP out performs you. Why? That is the only complaint I have and your responses is seriously lacking, we don't want to know about your dota server, we don't want to know how this is about the only time compared to last year... Rather stop the bull**** spinning and just cut the flowery words.
