MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

I can understand the occasional issues with breakages etc, and these do seem to happen to Seacom more than others. My issue is the lack of a decent backup system. I have basically spent the whole day searching for free accounts. Afrihost and Imaginet are flying a t the moment.

You would think that with the price we pay, which is by far opne of the highest currently, that mweb would have a decent backup system in place. But all that happens is the user gets shafted, and Mweb list the T&C's when you request a refund. Serious we are paying for a service, and we do not always get what we hay for.

I have been having issues with my account for months now, and all I ever seem to do is ping and tracert tests, but never a solution.

I understand what your saying and I can certainly relate.

I will not try and make light of a dark situation again.. My apologies

MWEB, bottom line, ensure that you have capacity when Seacom hits the fan. 64kbit/s or 128kbit/s would be fine so that we can check email and do work. block all usenet/p2p and so on, that is why we are angry.

Earlier MWEB said you are operating at 1/3 capacity, which is, from where I'm sitting, completely false.

Wow Blind Faith I hate to jump on the bandwagon here but you are seriously being highly confrontational for no reason.

I didn't mean to infuriate you blind faith... Again.. my apologies

Assumptions now? I'm quite cool, I'm actually just surprised. I'll run this by Will later on and see what he says. Would be interesting to see if he also shares this kind of ideas.

Still at it. Cute.

Maybe I must run your responses by Will...

Where is Will anyways? This is a major problem yet we get response from Mweb Guy and not a manager. This shows me that they have no interest in what the customer has to say but rather just letting the rep deal with things.

Will is available if I need him tonight (on call).

The problem is not on our network directly and we cannot fix it ourselves.

Believe me that the management team are liaising with SEACOM and will continue to get updates through the course of the night

So basically as long as there are Dota servers then we must be happy with no back up for when Seacom fails?

I didn't mean that Bar_Rat, the discussions were around MWEB being worse off than some of the other ISP's.

I was just trying to remind everyone that we do have allot going for us as an ISP.

Yes everyone is frustrated now, however I can assure you it will get better!!

That. Is. Why. You. Are. One. Of. Most. Awesome. People. I. Have. Ever. Met. On. The. Internet  Really appreciate for what you have done so far :) Keep it up. Guess I will keep sticking with MWEB :D

Well atm nothing is going anywhere since we got no connection :P

The main problem is that you dont have an adequate back up system for when Seacom goes down(which is often).

Point taken, I will certainly compile the views and pass them along.. that's the least I can do...

Wow I feel the love in this thread lol mweb any updates mate

For now, we are looking at getting the network back to normal tomorrow.

We will provide you more feedback in the morning...

Cool cool guess my 10 meg account can rake the back seat till then. Keep up the good

MWEB Guy thanks for actually being here at 21:31 on a Friday night and taking all of the heat! :D

I think everyone's main problem is that there is no alternative to using the internet, other than having to buy bandwidth from another provider that has been able to manage the situation better and have a fail safe solution.
I'm lucky that I have a spare ADSL account on another ISP.

Strangely, I have not noticed any problems?

Does the DBN POP route through a different cable or something? Because all international is flying on my end...
