MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Same poor performance for my 4mbps uncapped line for the past week - my first full week of the service. First day was great, second morning connection began dropping every 3-4 minutes. Now at a point where the modem will no longer even connect to mweb. Noted attenuation rates of 34db down 10db up. Any idea what this might be mweb guy? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Seriously

I know you had a refresh done, but I need to know what is happening now. What is your experience like, what is being affected most?

Everything. U-tube, downloads, speedtests, Mybroadband forum, all in a very staccato (sudden surge then completely dead for a period) effect.

PM me the MWEB email address or username so that I can look into this from our side as to why it is slow for you.

Almost 3am can't get above 20kb/s with browsing/streaming on my 1mb...

Edit: almost 6 now still at 20kb/s

My speeds have been brilliant the last few days. Downloads running > 420kbps on my 4MB line.

Yo, thought I might just mention that I am testing out an Mweb uncapped 4mb account and I must just say that their speeds are freaking ridiculous... Getting 0.20mbps download and 0.74mbps Upload...

You know, I must just say that although Afrihost may have issues from time to time, atleast their speeds (regardless of what time of day it is) isn't throttling you down to 4% of what you are paying for.. I am definetly not signing up with Mweb anytime soon.

They kindly downgraded me to 1gb as requested. They billed me R59 as opposed to R29 as advertised on their product pages. I can just have my money back and leave already!

Good Afternoon jhoward,

Please provide me the MWEB account details you are testing with and I will look into this from my end.

Good Afternoon straatkat, please see the private message I have sent you regarding your billing.

Thank you for the message. You must be the only ISP that bill two months at start of a new subscription / migration. Anyway, I have cancelled, will wait for the cancellation to come through and then I will take you up on the refund.

Actually, Telkom does that. I have no idea why an ISP would though. MWEB didnt charge me like that. Only pro-rata for the rest of the month I was in and the next month. It doesnt work in arrears. I think you might have downgraded at the wrong time and they charged you pro-rata + the next month like it usually works

MWEB has slowed down to a crawl this afternoon . Rebooting router and PC does not help either. Must be some severe shaping taking place, even browsing is dead dead slow. This morning it was FLYING.

Good Afternoon, please note that I have recreated your port and re-authenticated your account.

Please reboot your router for 5min and let me know if it helps.
