Any idea why a 2nd PC using the same Mweb connection for over a year would suddenly get a Warning, Incorrect Password landing page?

Hmmmmm, this almost dead newsserver is starting to look like a new backroom shaping change ...... 40kbps until up to midnight, eish

Hi

Anything you can do to help my news server download speeds? Still sitting at <25k.

It seems they will never admit this but in effect torrents and usenet get shaped completely independantly, mostly because the mweb news server counts as local. So either something has changed with news server caching or the shaping rules were recently modified. This morning usenet was the normal speed but at about 10:00 mayby it dropped down to 25-35.

Hi

Got full speed torrents at 6:30 this morning i.e. 430kb/s, at 07:00, speed dropped right down to 0.9kb/s. This never used to be the case. Downloading anything overnight does not help. Have to download each morning for 30mins to get decent speed. This what we call a Premium account in South Africa.

Good Day,

I cannot pick up anything wrong with your MWEB account or your line at the moment.

Please change your username realm to @dsl512two.co.za and let me know if that helps.

You can also try connecting to the news server with the IP instead of news.mweb.co.za

What is the point of a representative on the forums if multiple customers are complaining about the degradation of the news server speeds and they cannot provide an answer , Ie. Yes the shaping rules have been updated , here is what to expect ....

I know I'm looking for a new ISP now and im sure some other people will be as well , seriously needs to be sorted out.

Good Evening flashfire208,

News servers have always been a best effort service and your speeds will fluctuate.

Your speeds do improve when the network is more relaxed though.
