Why are nzb's so slow lately... Even slower than torrents.
Are other also having this problem.

I'm on the 1mb R199 account...

Quick question...

I have a 4Mbps MWEB uncapped account but I got Telkom to upgrade my line so I'm actually syncing at 6Mbps.

Does the account limit me to 4Mbps or am I supposed to be getting 6Mbps speeds?

Yes, your account is limiting you. MWEB have to "flip the switch" on your account to allow the 6mbps.

MWEB Guy, will you be able to "flip the switch" so that I can actually get 6Mbps?

Hi feo

You'll have to upgrade to a higher speed package.

There is no "flipping the switch" to allow an up to 4MB Data account to get more than that.

Goes without saying. Nothing in life is free. What I meant was that his account will have to be upgraded as well.

Hi Gerhardva

It's the same. Shaping is Shaping.

We do have Unshaped Uncapped accounts.

At an extortion price but then that does not change the [-]Mweb[/-]"line" performance much does it? The "speed" will still fluctuate to a point of uselessness then the same cycle of PM me, reset/recreate the port, ect, ect would start all to infinity. ;)

Hi

I just checked your line on my side and it seems your attenuation is currently on 63db.
This will certainly be impacting your connection and cause you to suffer a degraded service.
I will have to log a line fault for you and have our team follow up on this fault.

Thank you for logging the fault.

I believe that my father was contacted with regards to the logging of the fault (hes the one paying for the line) and apparently knew nothing of what was being said as I never told him, considering I'm the custodian of all technology in the house

Telkom came to check the line this morning, however I was not available to receive them due to commitments at varsity.
My sister was the one talking to them as they checked the line and apparently the fault was opened under the case of "slow access", which isnt the issue as you are aware...

Apparently he did test the line and said the line is fine, including the high attenuation, which he said is due to the distance (I knew this already)

My sister asked if there was anything to be done to which he simply said no...

So my question is for those of us who are just so inconveniently placed between exchanges, is there no hope?

Mweb Guy - do you know what the username convention is for Netactive adsl accounts ?
