Hi ScottulusMaximus
I have tested your line and I noticed 2 things off the bat. Your line signal is extremely low and your attenuation is high.

Buy a Dlink DSL 2500U (they are about R250 on rebeltech.co.za), PM me and I can show you how to hack it to synch at any speed you want. I have 59.5 dB attenuation and I synch at 3.3 meg stabley.
 
I must admit - 1mbps MWEB on a 2mbps line is pretty cool...

My downloads were spiking up to about 138 KB/s for most of the night!

In my old place, I had simalar readings on my line, I did get the line to sync at 3 Meg, but it was unstable. The line would lose connection a lot. I downgraded to 2 MEg and it was a bit better. If you want a stable connection I would remain at your current speed.

Now at my new place, I sync at 10 Meg :D with a 20 dB line Attenuation and the line is like a rock,,, pity I am still on a 4 Meg data package... but the 10 Meg data package is a little rich for my liking

Anyone else having really slow international speeds at the moment in JHB?

Youtube, Steam, Origin, imgur are all crawling for me.

Hi Guys

I been trying for a day to get my adsl on to 2mbps... Port and line is synced at 2mbps... Mweb phoned me yesterday and upgraded me to 2mbps at an extra of R170 per month... BUT i still dont have 2mbps... I was told by mweb its a problem on their system and the upgrade will take a hour or so... its been 24 hours... Id like to test the 2mbps speed... PLEASE help mweb guy :D As my loyalty is still with MWEB!

Hi MWEB Guy.

So I still haven't received a call from consultant about upgrading to 2mbps.
I tried to log in to the upgrade page again and was able to log in, but now it says:

"There are errors...
No active contracts returned for customer"

I can see that the system recognises that we are logged in, but the options that are there to be clicked like current ADSL package are greyed out.

What can I do about it? I really want to get this upgrade process started already.

Since Friday I've been having issues with online gaming. Packet loss and an increased ping once again. Sites are fine, downloads are fine, it's just affecting the gaming again. Please can it be looked at long term because it keeps being an issue every so often and it's just irritating. Currently sitting on a ping of 320 and packet loss of between 0.3% and 1%. It makes everything all jerky :cry:
