MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Hello all

I have a 1meg uncapped plan from mweb with adsl line rental from telkom. I tried the 1 week free trial from mweb 2 weeks ago, was happy with it and subsequently switched my data plan to mweb from telkom.

In the last week I am experiencing login timeouts when trying to connect to dota 2 and diablo 3. Sometimes I can connect to diablo 3 but will be dropped after a few minutes. Web browsing and general download speeds appear unaffected in most cases.

I am not downloading anything else when these timeouts occur.

Things I have tried:
Reboot router
Unplug adsl line and wait some time before plugging in again
checked windows/antivirus firewall

I just had a friend check some things with my router via remote access (teamviewer). He said that my pings to google and line noise/attenuation are very good.

He subsequently setup a PPPOE internet connection (don't know much about that sort of thing) which seems to resolve the issues I was having, though I have not yet been able to test extensively.

I will monitor the situation and post again should any undesirable changes occur.
 
My Youtube experience still sucks. Cannot stream at all, it buffers all the time, day and night. CT, southern suburbs.

I see on your account that you have a line fault logged and we are dealing with it. We have also tried calling you but goes straight to VM.

I will update your open fault, stating you are still have line problems and ask the team to make contact with you.
 
I love when my 4meg account cannot stream a 240p video without streaming, reminds me what a great ISP Mweb is
 
We've been struggling with speed (and disconnect/timeout) problems on our MWEB 4Mbps uncapped account for a month now, and we've been in contact with MWEB's technicians off and on for a few weeks, very patiently seeing if they will resolve the issues, but each time I speak with them they don't seem to have anything useful to offer. Unfortunately it seems to be steadily getting worse too - these are today's SpeedTest.net results on a 4Mbps uncapped account (not a 1Mbps account, as it might look like):

The problem doesn't seem to be our line or router, as the line syncs at 10Mbps and we do get 10Mbps speeds (and no such problems) if using an Afrihost account instead. I'm now tired of struggling with this, we've been very patient with MWEB but after several weeks there is no indication that they even seem to be really taking my query seriously. (Exchange is Gordons Bay.)

Anyway, I've decided to cancel, I've already spent far more time than I should have trying to "debug" this. (I hope they at least have the courtesy to offer a refund and waiver the 30 days notice.)

Also is it only streaming that you are having trouble with ?

We noticed that people could access the site but hardly any of the videos opened up.

WebAfrica Capped Business account on 10mbps line. 720p YouTube is perfect. No buffering.

On a Plugg 10mbps uncapped test account youtube is 100% at 720p. Loads even faster than WebAfrica Business Capped. Very impressed. My line syncs at 8mbps.
